  1. Is Severino going to lose his Gold Glove nomination?
  2. Their stadium was heavily damaged by Hurricane Milton, so the Rays don't know where they'll be playing their home games in 2025. https://www.tampabay.com/hurricane/2024/10/15/where-rays-will-play-2025-one-many-questions-after-trop-damage/Where Rays will play in 2025 one of many questions after Trop damage The article mentions that the Rays expect to start play in a new stadium, adjacent to the site of the current stadium, in 2028. I must have missed that. I thought the Rays' long-term future in the Tampa-St. Pete area was still in doubt. If the Rays are settled, and the A's are bound for Las Vegas, I think that means that expansion talk will soon heat up. https://www.tampabay.com/resizer/v2/an-aerial-drone-view-of-tropicana-field-QWB7N6FRIJFPBDRTATNVJ7Y6J4.jpg?auth=d5f687f0d24655c78cafc79fac2278740909158b69a7a4a4ecaa817ef5fe7a0e&height=506&width=900&smart=true> https://www.tampabay.com/resizer/v2/here-you-can-see-the-damage-inside-JPZOYEVJBRDLNO2W5SXAJC3AVU.jpg?auth=33aae4f8c8c6131d01143e1f3c3ddc6ebb9eb5dea332e518df91cda2e22d5895&width=620>
  3. From February 28, 2020: https://phpbb3.leaptoad.com/mets/archives/29200/f1_t29226.shtmlIf you had the power to decide...
  4. It's hard to believe that that was forty years ago.
  5. He did give them a spark when he first arrived, but by now it's pretty clear that he's a one-season Met. Hopefully he'll get a World Series ring in the mail next spring when he's with the Rockies or White Sox.
  6. Edgy MD wrote: Koosman to Garrett and Jones to Boswell on deck. I'd pick Ron Swoboda over Ken Boswell.
  7. I recall starting a similar poll four years ago* but couldn't find it. * It was obviously more than four years ago, because by October 2020 we knew the Mets weren't going to win the World Series. It was probably around spring training of 2020, or earlier.
  8. I'd rather that at the end of the gig he starts playing Kool and the Gang.
  9. Easy choice. Kamala wins, Mets lose.
  10. Severino yes, Lindor no. Huh.
  11. My hope is that they can avoid using Peterson on Wednesday and Thursday so that he can start on Friday in Game Five.

  15. After the grand slam I was hoping we could get through this game without having to squirm.
  16. Edgy MD wrote: "He's the best shortstop in New York since our own Derek ... ." UGH! Yeah I know. BARF!
  17. I don't recognize the first guy, but after that, it's Yogi, Sinatra, Tony Bennett (?) and Dean Martin.
  18. But hopefully with drastically different results.
  19. Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: We're in trouble if we don't win this one I agree. Winning Game One isn't necessarily critical, but it does put pressure on the losing team to win Game Two.

  21. Definitely Cleveland. There's no way I can root for the Yankees to win yet another pennant.
