  2. Oh, the butcher and the baker and the people on the streets...
  3. Duda out. Johnson to second, Murphy to first.
  4. You could put Plawecki in for d'Arnaud.
  5. Jeurys coming in to face the tying run at the plate. Going for the four-out save.
  6. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: I love that they got these extra few outs from degrom. He came up pretty fucking big tonight. Me too. I'm virtually certain that if this was a regular season game, Jacob would have been out of there after six innings. Reed and Clippard were up in the pen. I hope it's Reed that comes in. (I may feel differently if the Mets pick up another couple of runs in the 8th.)
  7. Wayne Garrett it is, 7,976 days old.
  8. Nine more outs. Let's get three from deGrom, three from Reed, and three from Familia. I'd rather not see Clippard today.
  9. I'm hollerin' and cheerin' and I'm jumpin' in my seat!
  10. Elster in fourth place, at 8,101 days.
  11. Jefferies is the youngest, at 7,735 days. Gooden in third place, at 7,996 days. Not Reyes.
  12. He's at what, 101 pitches? I'm sort of tempted to give him the 7th. Then, if all goes well, Reed in the 8th and Familia in the 9th. Either way, we need 9 more outs. My prediction: If Cuddyer gets on, Lagares runs for him. Either way, when the Mets take the field in the bottom of the 7th, Lagares in center, Cespedes in left.
  13. Put Lagares in the outfield. Put Lagares in the outfield. (I'm guessing Cuddyer gets one more inning out there so he can bat again. Let's hope it goes smoothly.)
  14. Corey Seager is the youngest position player ever to start a postseason game for the Dodgers. Who are the three youngest Mets players to appear in the postseason? (There are only three who appeared in a postseason game during their first 8,000 days on Earth.) The two youngest are position players and the guy in third place is a pitcher. I can't promise to pay too much attention to this thread during the game, by the way.
  15. Well, the fifth inning was a quickie for deGrom! That's good. Is it almost time to put Lagares in for Cuddyer? Maybe Michael gets one more at bat?
  16. I had a feeling that David was going to hit a double into the gap. But instead he struck out. Can we hold the Dodgers scoreless for another five innings? I'm thinking we can get maybe two more out of Jacob. Unless he has two really quick innings I don't see him going seven.

  18. "Honey, you're embarrassing me in front of Buster Posey."
  19. Has anyone in the booth mentioned yet that deGrom was the Schaefer Mets Player of the Year?
  20. (This time Edgy got his thought in before I did.)
  21. This is just to make his eventual 3-run homer all the more dramatic.
  22. Cuddyer needs a slightly bigger glove.
  23. Someone other than d'Arnaud gets a putout.
