  2. This poll can use a tie-breaking vote, if there's anyone out there who hasn't voted yet...
  3. Look at this....I hadn't realized that the Mets haven't won back-to-back games since their nine-game winning streak came to an end about a month ago.

  5. In the entire history of Mets yearbooks, only two covers have featured Mr. Met, and fate has those two covers facing off against each other. I went with the Bicentennial version.
  6. 1963 Defeated the 2017 cover in Round 1.05 Defeated the 1989 Revised Edition cover in Round 2.05 1976 Defeated the 2004 cover in Round 1.09 Defeated the 1978 cover in Round 2.06
  7. I guess it's safe for Jordany Valdespin to come back, now that John Buck is gone. I bet Valdespin still ejects whipped cream every time he sneezes.
  8. Great! We can't even count on Bryce Brentz.
  9. Does this mean you don't like Bryce Brentz?
  10. I guess this means Lagares goes on the 60-day, which will allow the Mets to add an outfielder to the 40-man. Matt den Dekker? Zach Borenstein? Bryce Brentz?
  11. Sheesh. Paging Norichika Aoki.
  12. 19.68 inches is 50 centimeters. They must have measured him using the metric system and Jerry and Shirley converted the number to inches. The baby's initials are ELB. Those are the letters I always saw on the old Montreal Expos caps. No wonder they measured him in centimeters!
  13. True. Hopefully the Mets will use their three hits wisely and score a couple of runs.
  14. Me too. I've taken a step or two back as well. I should have made more of an effort to get to Citi Field in April. I haven't been there since 2016. I got discouraged too early in the 2017 season. It looked for a while like that wouldn't happen (at least not very quickly) in 2018 but things are looking a lot less promising.
  15. So he was about two days early?
  16. This is about as nauseating a cover as I've ever seen.
  17. In case you missed it, the updated bracket as of the close of the second round can be seen on this page.

  20. Voting for all remaining games played from May 1 through May 13 will close one week from today, on Thursday, May 24. These would be the games played against the Braves, Rockies, Reds, and Phillies. If you're on the list below with an 11 next to your name, you're all caught up on the games that are about to close. If not, and if you're so inclined, please try to get your votes in over the next week. Benjamin Grimm 11 G-Fafif 11 Vic Sage 11 Kongsuds 11 Ashie62 9 Methead 9 Lunch 7 TransMonk 2
  21. We're not sure yet, however, that the Nationals will end up in Las Vegas. I found this article (What MLB team might affiliate with the Las Vegas 51s?) which suggests that, when the game of musical chairs ends, the team that lands in Vegas would likely be one of the following: Brewers, Astros, Athletics, Orioles, Royals, Diamondbacks, Twins, Rangers, Nationals and Mariners. I hope it's the Nationals. Even though having a far-away AAA affiliate is, overall, just a minor disadvantage, I'd rather see the Nationals be the team to get that disadvantage.
  22. Yeah, that's the ideal way to do it. That final scene from First Avenger, when Steve Rogers runs out into Times Square, would be delayed until after, I don't know, Iron Man 2?
