  1. There were some reports that indicated that the Yankees are fed up and done with him, but I'm definitely skeptical about that.
  2. Well, a lot of people seem to be talking about Cody Bellinger, but he doesn't have a thread yet in this forum. There's a lot of speculation that the Mets and Yankees are the most interested parties. A decision may come soon.
  3. Framber is still out there. Just bumping this thread in case any news breaks.
  4. I saw an article that seemed AI generated that said that the Phillies were furious at the Mets, but didn't provide any details. I can see that they may be angry at the player but it doesn't seem reasonable that they'd be angry at the team that signed him. There are so many ****** news reports out there. And it's only likely to get worse over time.
  5. For future reference: UMDB Classic can be found at https://leaptoad.com/mets I'll probably keep it updated, but at a much smaller scale. I'll update the stats, but just for the big-league team. Not the minor leaguers. I'll enter game results, but no box scores. No transactions. No player-of-the-week etc. awards. No updating the other teams that Mets players have played for. Probably won't keep track of coaches either. Maybe I'll stick with the necrology. This is mainly just for me, as the UMDB was when I first created it way back when in its initial simple form. But that doesn't mean I can't share it with the CPF. But it's not intended for the general public. If you notice any broken links, let me know and I'll fix them when I get a chance.
  6. This whole "run prevention" thing seems to have gone off the rails. Polanco at first, Bichette at third, Baty in left. That's a lot of inexperience if it indeed plays out that way.
  7. I'll keep it for the foreseeable future. I may change the URL. If so I'll post it here. Maybe I'll rebrand it as Ultimate Mets Classic? Or something else? Suggestions welcome.
  8. The old version of the site survives (with some broken image links) at https://leaptoad.com/ultimatemets.com We'll see what becomes of that. If it looks like a more viable resource (to me and those of us here who want to use it) than the new site then maybe I'll keep it going, with minimal updates.
  9. And hopefully he'd be better than Todd Hundley was.
  10. I do wonder what kind of feedback they're getting, if any. I no longer have access to the email box, so I have no idea.
  11. I'd love to have him for longer than one year, but if it's just for 2026, then so be it. We'll have a better team with him here, and it's a one-year rental that didn't cost any prospects, so that's really good. There's still at least one starting pitcher to add. I don't know if they'll sign one or trade for one from their surplus of infielders. I suppose it's possible that Semien never plays for the Mets, but who knows.
  12. That remains to be seen. It depends on how the new site shapes up. If I want to continue to use the old site for my own purposes I'll keep it up. I can easily paste the player stats once a week or so. I won't be doing box scores or other stuff. But we'll see what happens.
  13. Okay, so he's probably a one-year Met. I wonder what Brett Baty is thinking right now.
  14. In his career, 31 games at DH and 716 at shortstop. Never played anywhere else in the field. I wonder what the plan is for him?
  15. I don't want to undermine the new guy, but here's a secret: https://leaptoad.com/ultimatemets.com
  16. Mark Feinsand suggests that the Mets might consider Eugenio Suarez. He's a big right-handed bat, but he'd be yet another infielder. Or, perhaps, a DH.
  17. It feels very strange to me to see that. I had thought that it would come up in its original state while the changes were being made behind the scenes. I have no stake in the site anymore, and no say in what happens, so Que Sera, Sera.
  18. Yeah, they might as well keep their prospects and see how they develop. Certainly don't trade any top prospects for a one-year rental. Or for Luis Robert.
  19. I assume it's the latter, that the Guardians just give up some spending power, not actual cash. But I'm not certain of that.
  20. I assume the Mets wanted to refill their coffers after giving $3.9 million to Wandy Asigen.
  21. Reports indicate that a decision may come as soon as today. Mets offering four years, maybe five. Toronto possibly offering as many as ten.
  22. Rumor has it that it's down to the Mets, Dodgers, and Blue Jays, and that the Jays are most willing to go long-term with Tucker. And the Mets are offering the highest AAV, and the Dodgers are somewhere in between. He might take the more money on the shorter term because he's young enough to be a prime free agent one more time. Or maybe not.
  23. There's speculation that this can be decided this week. I'd be okay with Tucker as a short-term solution, so four years with multiple opt-outs is fine. I hope they get him.
  24. I'd give that my stamp of approval too. It may include an opt-out (and I hate opt-outs) after year one or two, and if that's what's necessary to close the deal then I'd approve that as well.
