  1. It looks like we lost G-Fafif and KC Mets almost immediately. Fman99 dropped off a few weeks ago. But coming here, we got Johnny Lunchbucket and seawolf back. So some good, some bad.
  2. Do you really think it feels dead? There seems to be plenty of conversation. But yeah, the Mets being shit doesn't help. I've been absent from the IGTs for a while now. I haven't watched a single pitch since July 5, and at before that one game I had gone at least a couple of weeks without tuning in.
  3. I think getting into the Hall of Fame has given Mrs. Met a big head.
  4. My son forwarded me this screenshot from the Mets ticket site. It's almost hard to believe it's real.
  5. Since 1994, I've paid very little attention to what goes on in baseball outside of the Mets. So I had no idea that Vlad Junior was having such a poor season. I remember the speculation about him possibly being Pete Alonso's successor. I can only imagine the angst if he was having this season in Queens.
  6. As long as he's not Lenny Dykstra.
  7. That was his first wife. Mrs. Met is his second wife. Lady Met is currently married to Ben Affleck.
  8. I was gonna guess Melvin Tidewater.
  9. It's probably just a matter of time...
  10. Nice! If the Mets can win at a .800 clip the rest of the way they may just make the postseason! (That would give them 86 or 87 wins.) I mean, how hard can it be to win four out of every five games, nine times in a row?
  11. Looks like he only made it to the back page twice, both on the same day, and not in a good way.
  12. If I had been offered any input, I would have advocated for doing it the other way around.
  13. I forgot to give a number. Let's say... 20. It's bush league. There's no need to show up your opponent like that. If there was no DH rule he'd totally have been drilled with a pitch by now.
  14. Yeah, not cool. Someone should talk to him. It's okay for his first big-league strikeout, or for ending a game or getting out of a jam, but not every time. And I just checked... he's 29 years old! Someone definitely should have talked to him by now.
  15. Did he do that on every strikeout, or just his first?
  16. I'll feel better about all this if Jefferson Rojas turns out to be better than Pete Crow-Armstrong. I know there's no connection between the two other than the trading partner, but, you know, feelings.
  17. I'm not sure if you're trolling or if you really think this.
  18. I'm seeing stories that the Mets were about to trade Clay Holmes to the Diamondbacks, but backed out when they got a bad medical report on a player that they had agreed to acquire. I haven't seen anything about who that player was.
  19. Mets whose names start with the letter Y. For many years, Joel Youngblood was the only member of this club.
  20. I'm glad Manaea is still here. As we've seen, it's best to go into a season with as much starting pitching depth as possible. He might as well be one of the options.
  21. This has been my thinking for quite a while now too. Is this the approach that he took in Milwaukee? Or has he changed his approach due to the uncertainty from the upcoming CBA negotiations? Whatever the reason, it's been a disaster. He not only has to salvage this team, but also his career. If he gets fired before he turns the Mets around, he's done. Not that I care about that, of course.
