"And we have a three-to-one ballgame" Bob really should have told us which team had the three and which team had the one. John Milner at the time held the Mets record for most home runs in a season by a left-handed hitter. Ten Mets left-handed batters have since hit more than 23 home runs in a season. (Switch hitters don't count.) Let's try to name all ten of them. The usual quiz rules apply: No more than one pick per post, and no consecutive posts. Once you've posted, please wait until someone else has posted a name before you go again.

I don't know if he's eligible for Dark Horse status, but I think he's going to be an important member of this team. 400 or more plate appearances, and he'll start at least 60 games, somewhere. Should the Mets be fortunate enough to make the postseason, he'll be in the starting lineup at least a few times.

I watched it again, thinking that as new guys emerged onto the list, that they would alternate between the two colors. In the later years, when things slowed down and it was easier to track, that seemed to be the case -- most of the time. But it looked like Jacob deGrom followed Jon Niese, and both of them were blue.

I also think he eventually loses his job to Guillorme. Gets traded before the deadline for a pitcher.

That's kind of getting ahead of things. Did he do the same with Alex Escobar and Fernando Martinez?

Mostly, I'm hoping that there's never any reason to have him start any games, unless maybe if the double-headers pile up.

Pitchers with the most strikeouts who came along too late to ever appear in the top 15: Steven Matz, 552; Tom Glavine, 516.

Was Dusty Senior a ballplayer? I see no mention of that on his Wikipedia page. My first thought had been that Dusty's dad was a Negro League player and he added the Jr. because now his father is, retroactively, a major league player. But I see no evidence that that's the case.

I watched it three times and wasn't clear on what happened. I think it was a line drive to the second baseman, who then threw to shortstop to get the runner who was forced to return to the base, and then a throw to first to get the runner who was also forced to return?

    I thought he was Bobby Ewing's brother-in-law.

I just checked, and in 2019, 33 of the 78 threads received four responses or fewer.

I do think less is more. I find that I stop paying attention (and participating) when most of the threads are for people I've never heard of. Predicting Brandon Nimmo or Carlos Carrasco makes sense. But Luis Carpio? Drew Ferguson? Jacob Barnes? I think most of us are just shrugging our shoulders.

He'll probably be in charge of shutting down access to the Shea Bridge.

https://sports.yahoo.com/where-mets-extension-talks-stand-143853365.htmlHere's where Mets extension talks stand with Francisco Lindor and Michael Conforto Andy Martino wrote: The Mets have made an opening offer to extension candidate Francisco Lindor, and Lindor's representative has countered once, according to league sources with direct knowledge of talks. The team has also made its first offer to Michael Conforto, sources said. Those talks are ongoing but no deal is close.

    I'm optimistic about Walker.

He'll be our second-best Diaz, but our best Yennsy.

I remember it as a kid. Don't know whether or not it's specific to Long Island.

I think he becomes the guy in 2023, and McCann can either become a backup or get traded.

My first thought was the playground rule, four fouls and you're out. But maybe instead six fouls and you walk?

I feel like a nickname of "Opie" is inevitable. It's interesting, but futile, to speculate on who he may eventually displace in the Mets outfield. I agree that he'll probably start in Low-A. That would be St. Lucie, right?
