My vote for 5 is looking wildly optimistic.

Whatever happened to Fleer and Donruss? I thought it was decided forty years ago that anyone could print baseball cards? I suppose I haven't been paying much attention to the industry. It seems like something has changed.

https://www.si.com/mlb/mets/news/report-mets-discussed-blockbuster-deal-with-cubs-mlb-trade-deadline-rumorsReport: Mets Discussed Blockbuster Trade With Cubs At Deadline Sports Illustrated wrote: According to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, the Mets were talking to the Cubs about a potential blockbuster deal that would have sent 2020 first-round pick Pete Crow-Armstrong, an even higher regarded prospect and a major league player under multi-year control to Chicago in exchange for Kris Bryant, Javier Báez, Trevor Williams and another major league player. However, the Mets received the news that their ace, Jacob deGrom, was going to be shutdown with right elbow inflammation just hours before the deadline, which would put him out until September at best-case scenario. Due to the uncertainty surrounding deGrom's status, the Mets decided to make a smaller trade that would slice the initial package in half in the form of Báez and Williams coming to Queens in exchange for Crow-Armstrong, per Rosenthal. This was decided in the final hour prior to the 4 p.m. deadline on July 30. I'm not sure I see the argument for the half measure. If they figured that losing deGrom meant that they were less likely to make the playoffs with Baez and Bryant, why trade Crow-Armstrong for a package that doesn't include Bryant? Getting less of a boost and still giving up a top prospect?

Another reminder... the games played against the Dodgers at Citi Field last week are still low on votes. Please try to get your votes in over the weekend.

I don't know! I can't find a good photo of him without his cap on. I see that he wrote a book called "Behind the Mask". If only he had written one called "Beneath the Cap."

Done! Please vote again for that game.

I can delete your ballot and you can vote again... It will only take a moment. (I have a utility in place to do this.) Let me know...

Those of you who picked 13, please report to the front desk to collect your losings. Thank you.

I voted 5, but I'm hoping for 13!

The next 13 games the Mets play will be against the two teams that fled New York City for California after the 1957 season. How many of the 13 games do you think the Mets will win?
