Hmmm. Does Santana get the daytime start or does he pitch the nightcap?

The Iron Man thread is, at the moment anyway, still spoiler free. In case you're still reluctant to go there, I gave it the best rating. I loved the movie. Best Marvel movie yet.

Hey! I'm having some of their sausage with my dinner tonight. Their spinach and garlic chicken sausages are pretty tasty.

Here are the lines: Figueroa 5 8 5 5 4 3 Perez 6 6 5 5 2 3 The only major difference between the outings is that Figueroa blew a lead whereas Perez never had one to protect. Check your biases! Now that both games have been tallied, Perez has earned 0.41 points for his start, while Figueroa earned 0.20 for his. So Perez ended up outscoring Figueroa, which seems correct to me.

Kansas City and Anaheim also still have "legacy" stadiums. I'm pretty sure SkyDome is older than 1990, though. I'll have to look it up.

One of those guys was a 1b/3b.

What's really amazing is that there are only four teams left in the NL that can be said to have "old" stadiums. Cubs, Dodgers, Mets, and Marlins. Are we looking ahead to a time when only the Cubs, Dodgers, and Red Sox have parks that were built before 1990? (Am I missing anyone? Maybe Toronto... do they have a new ballpark on the horizon?)

I agree. I'm not willing to give up on him either. Sucks for Casanova, though. He's done a good job, but he's going to get displaced by Castro. But I suspect he'll be back once or twice before the season is done.

I don't get it. Oh, I get the attitude, but I don't know what a "massive spod" is, nor do I know who Akon is. (But I gather that his/her birthday is on April 30.)

Well then the Mets, for sentimental reasons, should snap him up in the 53rd round!

A few nights ago, SNY did one of those in-game fan polls. The question was, "Who is the Mets MVP so far this season?" The choices were Santana, Schneider, Church, and Wright. I was surprised that Schneider was one of the four choices. (Is it even possible that he's the fourth best Met this season?) The results were also surprising: Santana 4% Schneider 6% Church 66% Wright 24% Now, it's not surprising that Schneider finished well behind Church and Wright, but that he finished above Santana? Huh? I'm not putting him down; he's a nice player. But something's not right here. Especially since Schneider lost all that time to his injury and then his infection.

He was. And he also cost Dwight Gooden a no-hitter by not throwing the ball to first when Keith Moreland hit that slow hopper. But all that was forgotten when Knight punched Eric Davis.

I wonder then, did any Kansas City A's return to the Phillies? Any early Baltimore Orioles go back home to the Cardinals? Any Milwaukee Braves go home to the Red Sox? Certainly none on the level of Mays and Aaron, so I doubt that any of us would be able to think of them from the tops of our heads. Let's get SteveJRogers to research it. Maybe we can get him to stay up until 2 a.m. doing it.

And there are probably a bunch of Cubs/White Sox, Braves/Red Sox, Phillies/Athletics, and Cardinals/Browns that we'd never even think of.

They're not alone in the Ray Knight thing. Even during the 1987 and 1988 seasons, while Knight was stinking it up in Baltimore and Detroit (I think) some Mets fans were lamenting that the Mets were stupid to let Knight go, and that he was the missing key to the 1987 Championship. My memory is that they didn't like replacing Knight's fire with McReynolds' ice.

="Benjamin Grimm"]Really? Didn't Darryl Strawberry and Dwight Gooden do the same? And Yogi Berra too. I'll bet there are a bunch of others.
