  1. Anyway, if "Lopez" was still a Met, cleon would be whining about how much he sucks, and how stupid Omar was not to trade him for Santana.
  2. Who the hell is Carlos Lopez? And who really cares whether or not Wright and Reyes make the All-Star team?
  3. I wish that his book had had that kind of quality stuff.
  4. From David Letterman's monologue: ] "The hookers in Times Square are offering a Willie Randolph special. For 50 bucks, they'll screw you in the middle of the night when nobody's looking."
  5. I remember Pete Franklin. I didn't think he was so bad, but I was a callow youth when he was on. I doubt that I'd be able to listen to him today.
  6. Adam Rubin has been on a roll lately. It would be great if we could get him back here!
  7. Actually, they once showed up at 3 a.m., when they knew the Mets wouldn't be there. Cowards!
  8. "Jerry Manuel is a Willie clone."
  9. I'm slightly curious: How badly did they "kill" the Mets over the Willie Randolph thing?
  10. Yeah. If the Mets had won three of four against the Padres, as they should have, they'd only be a half-game out now.
  11. If they are done, then all I can say is good riddance. Of course, there will never be a shortage of new loudmouths to replace the old, but it's time for Mike and Chris to get out of the spotlight.
  12. I think the Post ran with that story because the Daily News looked so stupid with the Willie martyrdom stuff, and the Post can't stand not being the stupidest tabloid in town.
  13. And the answer is no. The Mets have visited all 14 AL teams: Eleven times: Yankees Four times: Orioles Three times: Blue Jays, Red Sox Twice: Angels, Devil Rays, Tigers Once: Indians, Rangers, Royals, White Sox, Athletics, Mariners, Twins Which is why it surprises me that there are some teams that still haven't visited other teams. I guess it's probably because some divisions have six teams and some have four, while the Mets are in a five-team division that has a five-team counterpart.
  14. That's clearly (I think) not what I mean. (Did Steve Rogers sneeze on you or something?) Let me state it more explicitly: Are there any teams the Mets have yet to visit since interleague play began?
  15. ="AG/DC"]The Rockies' next stop is Kansas City, a city they've never ever played in. I'll have to check this, but I think the Mets have visited every American League city since interleague play has begun Is anyone aware of any cities the Mets haven't visited?
  16. I don't recall him being a front-runner after the 2002 season, but I may just be forgetting. I don't recall much about that search that ended with Art Howe.

  18. AND given up a homer to an almost-Met named Yorvit.
  19. Some people may (erroneously) define "overrated" as "people I'm sick of hearing about." That's the only definition I can think of under which Alex Rodriguez would fit the description.
  20. My problem was that I got there late (it was a weekday day game) and all the spots near the gate were already taken. I ended up having to park deep in the lot, which, as stated above, is not a good thing to do.

  24. Isn't the problem with the Shea parking lot more a matter of getting out after the game than it is getting in before the game? Last time I parked at Shea, it took me almost two hours to make my way out of the lot. That was in 2000, and I don't think I'll ever park there (or at Citi Field) again.
