During the FOX telecast, Jerry said that Delgado could be out "for a very long time." -
It's funny because that's his name!

Gahhh! That orange jersey is blinding me!

I went to bed, it was 5-1 and I woke up fully expecting to get confirmation that they had lost.

Mets survey fans on uniforms and other stuff
Benjamin Grimm replied to a topic in New York Mets Talk
I do get e-mails from the Mets (I'm sure most of us do) but I haven't received this one. Why do you think the Mets should not keep the black jersey? That's kind of a leading question, assuming that most fans don't like the black. I'd be very surprised if the Mets phrased a question that way, but if they actually did, that's a good sign. -
In all seven cases, the SB count was exactly four: Against the Mets: Vince Coleman (6/30/86), Tim Raines (10/2/83) and Kevin Bass (5/7/89) For the Mets: Vince Coleman (6/26/92 and 6/23/93), Roger Cedeno (5/14/99) and David Wright (5/14/09)

I find four instances where a Met did it and three where an opponent did it.

You mean the guy in the deathwatch thread who declared the Mets champions in June of 2006?

To clarify: I meant 60th percentILE, as in "someone in the top 40 percent of ML shortstops." I don't expect us to get that much of JoseX4's production out of any one man's body, unless that man is Hanley Ramirez or, say, Undead Wilmer Flores. ]OE: And All Start starting pitching gives us 60 fewer innings than it used to. I was Schaefer-lazy yesterday, and neglected to close the May 11 game, as announced. I also neglected to announce that the May 12 game would close today. So that game will get a bit of an extension, and both the May 12 and May 13 games will close some time over the weekend. Schaefer POTG 5/12/09 - Mets 4, Braves 3Schaefer POTG 5/13/09 - Braves 8, Mets 7 The May 13 game, I should add, has only a mere four votes. (I'll soon add the fifth vote.) It's in danger of being the most lightly voted game of the season. As yucky as the game turned out, please consider casting your votes.

I did a search on Google News, and according to Brian Costa in the Star-Ledger, the subject of the press conference will be Carlos Delgado.

John Cougar Lunchbucket May 14 2009 02:25 PM adam rubin sez: ] Putz out two days with elbow trouble; Delgado 'slight tear' May 14, 2009 J.J. Putz had an MRI on Wednesday that revealed inflammation in the back of the elbow. That has caused a bone spur. Putz took a shot, which will cause him to sit for two days at least. Putz has joined the team in San Francisco after being seen by team doctor David Altchek. "He's had this spur before, and guys sometimes play with it," GM Omar Minaya said. Minaya said Carlos Delgado has an impingement of the hip, which creates a sligt tear. Has also has a bone spur in the hip. Minaya said he will wait through the weekend and see how a new therapy works before making a DL decision. "We're going to have to wait on this before we make a decision on Carlos Delgado," Minaya said. "... The doctors wanted to give it a couple of more days before they make that decision." metirish May 14 2009 02:27 PM Why would you wait on Delgado , I'm not a doctor but I do wear a lab coat and it's my professional opinion that he's going to be DL'ed.... I got to about the fourth paragraph and then thought, "Why does anyone care what Pete Rose has to say about all this?" And then I stopped reading.

Oops, I voted for what would make me happy. (5 and 5.) What do I expect? I'm afraid it will be 3 and 7. Regardless of their record, if they come home within a game of first place, we should be pretty content. This is the kind of trip that can kill a team in August. Less so in May, but it's still a dangerous week and a half coming up.
