A little while ago I asked Alexa what time the game started, and she gave me the correct answer. The Mets take on the Mariners in Seattle at 10:10 p.m. Then I asked her who's pitching for the Mets. And she told me that Chris Bassitt would be pitching for the Mets tonight against the Padres. I suspect that that answer isn't completely accurate.

I think he still has value. If they don't have room for him, I'd rather see him traded than released, although I know it's more difficult after the deadline.

If you can provide a list of benches that I can talk to, I will consider your application.

If they can't get anybody else, I'll do it.

I imagine there are websites that have TV listings.

I'd be okay with a 5-5. This was supposed to be a tough stretch, and they'll still have plenty of time to make up any ground they might lose with a 5-5 trip. Or a 4-6 for that matter. They won the game that has the most potential to matter, the one in St. Louis, so that at least is a good thing.

The White Sox have now lost 21 consecutive games. This ties the season-opening streak that the Orioles suffered through in 1988. In modern (since 1900) history, only one team has had a longer losing streak; the 1961 Phillies lost 23 in a row.

I'm going to have to learn to remind myself that Warren Spahn never struck out 200 batters in a season.

I see their losing streak has reached twenty games. The White Sox are 27-87, .237, which projects to a final record of 38-124. Buster's math is a little off (or outdated). The best the White Sox can do is go 75-87, which is twelve games under. That seems unlikely to happen. To avoid 120 losses, they'll need to win at least a third of their remaining 48 games. A 16-32 record the rest of the way would leave them at 43-119.

I think that's how you have to play it.

I think Spotrac, whoever that is, is way off, unless perhaps those numbers were calculated prior to the 2024 season. I would be very surprised if he got anything close to that.

Seems like he's here to eat innings.

Mendoza was saying that Tylor was going to be the 100-MPH bullpen guy. That didn't last long.
