  2. I was going to ask the same thing! I interpret it as waving away underarm odor.
  3. I've seen rumors that the Mets have been one of several teams interested in Flaherty.

  7. I'm preferring 6:40 as a TV viewer who hasn't been to a weekday night game in almost five years. (And that was an anomaly.) My infrequent visits to Citi Field are almost always on weekends. (I live almost three hours away.)
  8. I'd be okay with 6:40 on weekdays.
  9. Brandon Nimmo hit his 100th home run as a Met not so long ago, and Francisco Lindor is poised to do the same. Both of them have now entered the Top Twenty, at the expense of John Milner (94) and Cleon Jones (93). And it looks like Pete Alonso will be sticking around for the rest of the season, giving him a shot at third place. 1. Darryl Strawberry 252 2. David Wright 242 3. Mike Piazza 220 4. 10. I wouldn't be at all surprised (or disappointed, depending on the return of course) to see Baty traded.
  11. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/d/df/ScooterMuppet.jpg> I'd welcome him back too. (Conforto I mean, not the Muppet.) He's not having a great season, but he's in his walk year and should be available pretty cheaply. I bet they could get him for a couple of AA players with a low ceiling.
  12. Yes, relievers first, and then an outfielder. I'd like to see an upgrade from DJ Stewart.
  13. I suspect a deal is afoot. But maybe it won't happen today, and Orze can get a chance to lower his infinite ERA if the Mets have a lead of ten or more to protect.
  14. =DocTee post_id=164059 time=1721994273 user_id=85] Tamps Bay sends Randy Arozarena---who would've looked good in Mets colors--to Seattle, a team they trail by half a game in the standings--for the #14 and #15 prospects in the Mariner system.
  15. The name "Pierce Johnson" makes me wince in imagined pain. What were his parents thinking?

  18. No big purple yet for Lindor's homer. The Mets' pants and jerseys aren't the same shade of grey. Watching Soto I can't help but wonder if I'm looking at a future Met.
  19. Severino loves that OMG sign more than anyone else.
  20. The Chicago White Sox are currently 27-76, with a percentage of .262. They're on a pace to go 42-120. (Or, without rounding, 42.46-119.54. Finishing with those exact numbers is rather unlikely, however.)
  21. That's quite an extrapolation.
  22. Maybe it's because the buy/sell decision is looming?

  24. I assume he meant the trading deadline. I disagree on Alonso; I don't think it's likely that any deal for Alonso would improve the Mets postseason chances for 2024. McNeil can stick around; let him battle for playing time with Iglesias or whoever else might challenge him. I think he still has value for the rest of the year as a sub, if that's the best he can do, or more, if he starts to play better. I do agree about Stewart. I'd like to see the Mets get a better bat in the next week to replace Stewart.
