  1. Well, that depends on what kind of season Delgado is having. If he's on his way to 35 homers, then Davis can stick in Buffalo for a while longer. But if he's hitting .220 with no power, then Davis pushes him aside. And if it's somewhere in between, well, you do whatever seems best.
  2. How likely do we think the Mets are to sign a Type A guy this winter?

  4. My hunch as to how the offseason will go: The Mets will stay in-house at first base (Murphy and Ike) and catcher (Thole and Santos), maybe bringing in a cheap older veteran to somewhat hedge their bets. Any money they spend will go to a left fielder and a starting pitcher.

  6. I have no idea. Maybe he (or someone with the same name) was mentioned on the radio or something. Google News search comes up empty.
  7. Oops, I tallied this one before I pasted the box score into the UMDB. 11. And didn't he play "Peter Pan" on Broadway?
  12. I'll probably close out all four games against the Phillies this pas weekend sometime on Wednesday. If not then, then Thursday.
  13. The answer to both questions is June 25, 2006: http://leaptoad.com/mets/oppteams.php?ThisTeam=20
  14. The Surprise Rafters? I think the team should be called the "Parties."
  15. Twins! At least Frankie will have about five months to catch naps whenever he can before spring training resumes.
  16. Are they in Baltimore on a weekend? (I'm guessing probably not.)
  17. Sometimes a search on Google News provides the answer, like it did recently with Ricky Otero. This time, not so much, unless people were inspired to search on "Jason Roach" because of this article, which appeared on September 13: http://www.capebretonpost.com/index.cfm?sid=285899&sc=150 A chance meeting with Cheticamp pianist Jason Roach has led to engagements in Cape Breton, mainland Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and New England.

  19. Okay, then, I'll say 14, 1978, Lee Mazzilli, John Stearns, and Steve Henderson.
  20. Me, I tune in to the Mets for an inning here or there. After they play their last game, I probably won't watch any sports at all until next March when they return to Port St. Lucie.
  21. I think it was in the late 70's, and the total was, maybe, 16?
