Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2017 Author Posted October 18, 2017 Yanx/Headley getting an extra base and getting out of an out not just despite falling down but because he fell down!!This is like the missed cut-off/flip-play all over again. They once again fall up the stairs.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2017 Author Posted October 18, 2017 And of course that play not made comes back to bite the 'Stros. 4-4, Yanx still batting w/1 out
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2017 Author Posted October 18, 2017 Houston Bullpen = Suxxxx1.1 IP, 5 runs, 6 hits, 2 walks ... and counting.
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 They're gonna friggin win it all aren't they?
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 Crap. I was fantasizing about the MFYs being gone at this time tomorrow. I'm sure we all were.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2017 Author Posted October 18, 2017 HahnSolo wrote:They're gonna friggin win it all aren't they? They still have to get past at least one or both of Verlander & Keuchel. But the bigger problem is that Houston has had about four good ABs in this whole series so far (one in this game). The Yanx have had more than that just in this inning and there is STILL only one out.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2017 Author Posted October 18, 2017 The other Yanqui specialty: the full-swing grounder that comes off the bat far too shitty to be turned into a DP. I think that's three already in this game alone. That's their go-to move when their full-swing swinging bunts aren't working.
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 I have no confidence in them winning a game in this ballpark.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2017 Author Posted October 18, 2017 Houston, right now, looks like a team that, without the late season Verlander pickup, would be about a 75 win club.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 This was my fault. I put it on right when it all went to shit.

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 They're going to win it all. That's just how this season is going to end. Then Noah Syndergaard will be deported. Fuck 2017.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 Astros by a touchdown tonight; no way Yanks are going to Houston and wining two (and probably not one).
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 Johnny Bingo, here we go again.Go Stros!

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 Dallas Keuchel, for what it's worth, has absolutely mowed the Yankees down in his career to date.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 Both pitchers are mowing so far.Castro, 2 out double as I type.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 Bird craps on Astros 1-0 MFY's.
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 Oh well this ones over. I can catch all of Double Jeopardy now
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2017 Author Posted October 18, 2017 Yanx have more hits w/RiSP in this game than the Astros do for the entire series.Hell, Houston only has five run-scoring hits in the entire series: 2 singles in Game 1; a solo HR plus the game-winning double in Game 2 (and that 2B was really an error), and a double in Game 4, that's it!!Their leadoff double early in this game was followed by: Weak Grounder, Weak Grounder, Weak GrounderRumor had it this was the best scoring team in MLB this year. If that's true I have no idea where they're hiding it.
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 Watching them bat reminds me of the Campbell/Mayberry Jr. Mets lineups.
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 All I heard before the series was that they were just like the 2015 Royals because "they don't strike out." The scout who determined that is lost.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2017 Author Posted October 18, 2017 Oh yeah, and virtually every MFY run this entire series has come with 2 outs - so real clutch pitching too!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2017 Author Posted October 18, 2017 And the entire Houston team is being out-hit by Chase Freakin' Headley - who I think hit .036 for the season prior to this series.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 Why did the Astros pick this particular moment to suck?
