The question here is not, are the Twins going to lose, but, by how many runs are the Twins going to lose?

Seriously. Our only hope is that they let Bartolo pitch the bottom of the 8th as a final farewell to baseball when they're down by two touchdowns.

They'll lose by one but only after giving the MFYs a five-run inning by blowing an easy double play that would have ended it scoreless.

The good thing about baseball is that, in a short series or a single game, you never know.
Unfortunately with these two teams, ya kinda do know.

In the Reg Season over the last 10 years (2008-17) Twins are 16 - 50 vs NYY -- and in their last four playoff series (the only ones they've ever played against each other) the Twins have NEVER won a
series and have won just two games in total, losing the five game ALDS four times: 1-3 (2003), 1-3 (2004), 0-3 (2009), and 0-3 (2010)
Shyeeeet, the fucking Rangers don't fold that bad when they see pinstripes!

Overall in the post season, the Twins have lost six straight playoff series, coming up winless in the 2006 ALDS vs Oakland, and losing 4-1 in the 2002 ALCS to Anaheim for a whopping 2 - 19 record.
The last post-season series they won -- in fact the ONLY post-season series they won since the 1987 World Series -- was the ALDS in 2002 beating Oakland three games to two, that was the series
which eliminated the 'MONEYBALL' A's as depicted in the book/movie. The eventual winning run in that series was driven in on a double by the Twins 26 y/o platoon DH who came in an inning earlier
on a L/R switch, David Ortiz.
Two months later, Minnesota would release him.

Twin go ahead in the top of the 10th on a Judge error. He has a two-out,
last-lick shot at redemption with a guy on and whiffs.

Twins are overdue. The Baseball Gods know we are owed something after this season.

Don't believe in baseball gods, nor any Yanks Twins We thing.

Kind of annoying that the start times for the ALDS are still TBD. You know they're just waiting for the Yankees to win so they can slot them into prime time for every game.

MLB's outright refusal to schedule simultaneous playoff games is just the dumbest thing going. Like a 2 PM start is somehow better than two prime time games to choose from.

I have to assume that's in the contracts of the television stations right? It'd be great for MLB interest to flip constantly between two, but you might flip off a game and stay on the other if it's more interesting.

I remember one year where there were simultaneous -- or at least somewhat overlapping -- game times involving some of the early round contests and MLB took a verbal pasting for it, so I think they're
likely to take criticism either way.

I recall Francesa in particular going apoplectic over non-exclusive game times, screaming about how 'you'd never see the NFL do anything like that!'
Really Mike ... you mean the NFL has figured out a way to jam 11 playoff games into a five week span and somehow manages not to have any of them infringe on any of the others? What genius that must take!
I wish MLB had someone that smart since slotting a max of 43 games into a 30-day window is practically the same thing.

And, yes, the one way to avoid late scheduling decisions would be to not allow the networks to decide which games go where but MLB, along with all the other sports (aside from 'The Masters'), long ago
ceded away scheduling authority in favor of larger piles of cash.

Somewhat simultaneous games seem to me not that long ago. Not sure what
happened to that exactly (except for the tv $$$ thing).

I'm really in not mood this year for the Yanks and their fans getting more than
a sniff tomorrow night ending in disappointment. I got a few fb fans already doing
a ring check and counting how many HR's his honor will hit in October.

Yeah, there's been a bit too much "Yankees are back look at us we're the best forever" and I'd very much enjoy the "Haven't won a playoff game since 2012." to remain true.

There was a time, I think in the early 90s, when they did simultaneous playoff games. Back then, I was someone who wanted to be able to watch every game, and I didn't like that they were doing that. Now, of course, I'm not going to watch any baseball until next March 29, so I no longer care.

I mean, it feels a little like showing up at a McDonalds drive thru window to tell them you're not really hungry right now.

I suppose I'll watch a few innings and see how this goes. That is provided that
ESPN doesn't slobber themselves over the Yanks in excess and the Yanks don't
score like 11 runs in the first.

I wonder if Joe Torre will be in attendance. That's good for a half-inning slobber.

My over-under number of innings for me to last is 3½... take the under!

SRO tickets still available on Yankees.com I can't tell if they just keep adding more at higher prices or what. (they say it starts at $28 but listed at $71)

Standing around Yankee Stadium for four hours sounds quite unpleasant.
I couldn't do that if they offered free beer delivered to my standing spot.

I don't know the stadium well enough to say. I've always enjoyed SRO though, hell when I (used to) go to Citi alone I'd rarely sit even if the park was empty.

I dunno how that translates to a playoff game though, where you don't actually want to miss action to wander into weird corners of the stadium.
