Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 This will be the 10th or 11th game I've seen this season but the first deGrom start. Section 516 tonight
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 Ben Lively (I don't know who that is)I know that he's a 6' 4" 25 y/o RH rookie, originally drafted by the Reds, who's made 10 ML starts this year including one against us that wound up as a 2-1 Mets win (thank you JdG) back in late June.I also know that he's nowhere near as nice to look at as Blake Lively[fimg=300]http://img2.timeinc.net/people/i/2015/greatideas/blog/151116/blake-lively-300x400.jpg[/fimg]Aside from that I got nothing.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 That's Philly's top prospect J. P. Crawford making his ML debut at 3B tonight: 'Young man we'd like to introduce you to Mr. deGrom'The touts who follow such stuff started to sour a bit on him this year as his stats more or less plateaued and/or backslid, but he's still just 22.He's essentially a SS but the Phils are going to have to figure how they want to integrate him into their current roster.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 If you've got to play Nimmo, I'm having trouble figuring out why you don't hit that guy leadoff every time.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 Plate one as the crazy notion of d'Arnaud batting cleanup pays off.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 Man, Kim looks like a real bruiser out there in left. Puts me in mind of Luzinski.

Guest 41Forever Guests Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 This is not going well.Luckily, the Phillies are team that we can come back on. But let's not spot them any larger of a lead.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 Without a comeback here, that'll make it six losses in the last eight JdG starts.Prior to that the Mets had won eight straight with deGrom getting the win in all of them.
Guest 41Forever Guests Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 And Smoker, with one pitch, pretty much puts the game out of reach.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 Let's shut down deGrom and send him home. Before his arm spontaneously combusts.

Guest 41Forever Guests Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 September is going to be a very, very long month.
Guest 41Forever Guests Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 Did Nimmo just get a low-five and point to the heavens for reaching on a walk in a 9-1 game? Or did he get a hit and I missed it?
Guest 41Forever Guests Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 I like McGowan. He needs a haircut, but he's rocking the stirrups!
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2017 Author Posted September 6, 2017 Well the Mets do suck, but, on the bright side, I love the baseball card review. Perfect way to spend the blowout innings.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 There's a game going on! Really, no other booth in baseball could pull thisoff without getting some serious ribbing.

What a rip.The TV booth whipped out the baseball card box?
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 I'm gonna' turn off the game and just look at Blake Lively.Later
