David Wright to begin baseball activities "soon." He's "definitely hopeful" that Wright will return this year.

Céspedes is "a week to 10 days away."

Matz to make another rehab start. (Surprising!)

Vote of confidence for Terry with a loophole: "I think there are reasons for the record we have that have nothing to do with Terry." (Implication to those who read for that sort of thing: "There are also reasons that do."

Pill to get a start, but Matz and Lugo will join the rotation when they have completed their rehab. Gsellman to the Gsellpen.

The show stopper in his prior rehab success has been throwing. He hasn't been able to do that. That's what we're waiting to see.

Did he address our lack of a Memorial Day IGT or did he avoid that topic?

It depends on which network coverage you trust.

That Lugo is being handed a starting slot while Gsellman moves to the pen -- as opposed to either doing it the other way around or merely deciding to cross that bridge when they come to it -- is a
bit surprising to me.

Yeah, especially considering that Gselly's got to go out there today and give it his all, doing the job he's supposedly already lost.

I got that factoid from Puma. It could be something he gleaned apart from the conference, but he lists Sandy as his source and it seems to have come along with his press conference tweets.

I AM DOING BASEBALL ACTIVITIES!

Wonder if this game from Gsellman causes a re-think of their plans for starter vs bullpen?
But whether they do or not, it still seems odd and unnecessary that they decided to not only to pre-decide it but also to pre-announce it. You can certainly understand why they'd slot Matz right into the
rotation ahead of RG but not so much Lugo.

Yeah, and even as it's a perfectly understandable decision, it's pretty unlike Sandy to ever turn over any cards before he has to.

I know fans want blood, but fuck 'em.

On the other hand, maybe Sandy and Terry know more (or suspect they know more) about Gselly's mindset than I do, and maybe pitching with nothing to lose was what RG needed.

On the post game show, they noted that he is something like 5-0 when he starts on 4 days' rest. Maybe its been the irregular intervals between starts that affected his pitching.

I saw the clip last night. Basically Matz is a starter, and Lugo has to start because of the elbow issue. Pitching out of the pen would cause more stress.

So Gsellman to the pen.

I heard them say that too and was disappointed.
