Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 SNY broadcast, 4:05 start, deGrom vs. Gio Gonzalez.Fboy and I made up a fun game where we switch the first letter sounds of the players' first and last names to give them funny monikers, like "Flilmer Worres" and "Hatt Marvey" and "Grurtis Canderson."You try to say Grurtis without laughing, I dare ya.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2017 Author Posted April 22, 2017 Apparently Gean Silmartin on stand by if Dacob JeGrom's neck is still too stiff to allow him to pitch.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 That Álex Torres sure had a hatt marvey. I'll say that much.Let's home Recty Rollins has a full roster to work with.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Shouldn't that be Kerry Tollins?Reminds me of the time we decided that whenever Chad Bradford had a bad day it was actually the fault of his evil twin Brad ChadfordWell, whatever it should be, here the lineup he's putting out there today:LAGARES - CFCONFORTO - LFCABRERA - SSBRUCE - 1BWALKER - 2BGRANDERSON - RFR RIVERA - 3BTJ RIVERA - CdeGROM - P
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Good to see deGrom will be making the start. And Cabrera too.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Conforto in vs. a lefty. I like. Draws a one out walk in the first.

ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 No d'Arsuck. He will end up on the DL yet.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 A bases loaded single gets the Nats on the board. Muffy tries to score on the play and is out by a MILE![fimg=600:2wqt03eq]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/C-C9y5XW0AAWhBN.jpg:large[/fimg:2wqt03eq]1-0 visiting team.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 It is getting difficult to watch. Thank God for Muffy and his comic relief.[tweet] [/tweet]
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Good thing we wore Gio out with all those pitches in the 1st inning.Meanwhile, against deGrom, the Nats are either making zero contact or hard contact.Aside from the Murphy & Weiters pop-ups to end the top 6th, they've either been smoking balls or striking out. Tough to explain that.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Grandy flashing some leather. Great catch.[tweet:3l3hodis] [/tweet:3l3hodis]
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 An Eaton walk and a Turner single ends Jacob's day. deGrom out, Edgin in. 1st & 2nd, 2 out, 6th. Bryce up.deGrom with 6 walks today, 10 Ks. Strange day for the deGrominator.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Lags singles in the 6th. Thank you Juan.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 I'd reject this review - but I'd reject all of these microscopic reviews just to keep the managers from nit-picking.... but the umps in Chelsea don't agree

I thought he was safe for sure.I couldn't tell whether he was safe or out and if that's the case you stick with the call on the field every time. Then, if you do that, it cuts the number of challenges in half as managers would only go after the more obvious missed calls which is what the replay rule was designed to be in the first place.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Meanwhile, the Nats bullpen came into this series with an ERA north of 5.00 and WHIP of nearly 1.5 ... but we haven't gotten a hit off them in six innings so far.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 And Dusty Baker sticks with the lefty. Who's the dinosaur now?
