5 Juan Berenguer (I seem to remember him as a rookie card fixture when I wasn't accumulating that many cards)

Damn. The kid's good. He should write a book.

2. 1965-66: 3-13 at the plate, 1-6, 5.35 in 32 games. Acquired from the Dodgers in exchange for Dick Smith, and otherwise didn't do anything of note. Even has a boring name.
1. 1967: Sixteen days as a Met in April as a Rule V pick, six games, 12 AB, no hits, 5 Ks. Apparently selling insurance in Corpus Christi these days. Came over from the Dodgers, then went back.

1. 1963: His only MLB season; was an effective swingman, throwing a CG SHO against the Phillies in August. Got 2 hits in 10 AB. GROVER POWELL
2. 1966: May 20: Purchased by the New York Mets from the Cincinnati Reds. August 16: Purchased by the Cincinnati Reds from the New York Mets. Got five (!) hits in 10 AB.
6. 1979-80: Bullpen cog who went 0-10 in between AL stints in Detroit and Cleveland. ED GLYNN
7. 1984: 1-10 in 17 games, all off the bench as a utility infielder. Came to the Mets in a famous trade. ROSS JONES
8. 1999: Pride of City College; went 3-10 as a swingman. Traded for a guy who was then traded away himself two days later. ALLEN WATSON
9. 2006-07: Somehow important enough to get the ball on 1986 Reunion Night. Went 2-10. DAVE WILLIAMS
10. 2010: Useful, if unimpressive, bullpen piece. Went 4-10 at the plate. RAUL VALDES
11. 2011-12: 0-3, 6.98 in seven games (six starts), but seemed like he was actually a lot worse. 2-10 at the plate. CHRIS SCHWINDEN

1. 1965: 2 for 9, but somehow made the Hall of Fame regardless.
2. 1967: 0 for 9, and best visually remembered for who he shared cardboard real estate with.
3. 1979-1981: 0 for 9 in 97 appearances out of the bullpen. Got 4.8% of the Hall vote in 2000.
4. 1987-1993: Sidewinder who went 0 for 9 at the plate in 288 games. Spent his entire MLB career as a Met.
5. 1990: 0 for 9, all off the bench as a September callup and backup outfielder. Often conflated for a similarly-named player on the same 1990 team.
6. 2003: 1-4, 7.02 in nine games. 0-9 at the plate. Traded for Richard Hidalgo.
7. 2008-15: 3-5, 8.86 ERA? WE'LL TAKE HIM! (Went 1-9 at the plate.)

And RIGHT BACK AT IT for today's:

1. 1962: 2 for 8. The Mets' "other" Wilmer.
2. 1965-66: 0 for 8. Won a ring in 1964 with St. Louis.
3. 1967: Not much of a "promoter," or a "superstar," and went 1-8 in 5 games (3 starts) as a Met.
4. 1967: 2-8 as a Met after coming over from Boston; probably best remembered as a Phillie, I guess?
5. 1973: Long-time Buc backstop who finished his career going 2-8 as a Met.
6. 1979: 5-3, 5.23 in 33 games. Three singles, 5 K in 8 AB. Was an all-star in 1973 with the Phillies.
7. 1983: 1-8 in three games as a catcher.
8. 1992-95: Started one game in 1992, four in 1995 after spending the late 80s with Milwaukee. Went 0-2 on the mound, 2-8 at the plate.
9. 2000-01: Pitched for eleven teams from 1994-2007, almost entirely as a middle reliever. 1-8 as a Met.
10. 2008: 3-2, 4.62 in eleven games, mostly out of the bullpen, which was way better than the unrelated guy who pitched for the Mets in 2007.

Who was on the team that long in relief? Bobby Parnell?
That ERA doesn't match though.

The ERA matches... his final year in college before he was drafted. Yikes!
