Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 27, 2017 Author Posted April 27, 2017 Barwis is as good a guess as any. I know I wasn't thinking, "Let's resign Céspedes and then lock him in a gym until he's as big as a bear!"

Guest cooby Guests Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 Why would anyone train with him on purpose? Kinda like my jr high gym teacher on steroids. That guy with the beard doing jerks will have no elbows soon

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 27, 2017 Author Posted April 27, 2017 So who is your callup, dudes?

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 I am prepared to wait a few beats for Rosario. When Doodoo returns we won't even miss Ces.Oh and what the hell, let's get LJ Mazzilli up here
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 27, 2017 Author Posted April 27, 2017 Nimmo is probably two or three days away but I wouldn't be shocked if he was on a plane to DCA right now.Washington, sheesh.
Guest cooby Guests Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 Just showed these videos to my hubby, who used to lift weights for football. He's appalled that this guy is anywhere near a professional athlete (let alone OURS!) Strongman training has no place in baseball.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 Wait, so Cespedes gets a leg injury.Instead of putting him on the DL (now only 10 days) they play shorthanded against their main division rival. Then bring him back too early, so that he aggravates it, then ends up on the DL for much longer.Where have I heard that one before?
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 No faith in the medical staff, part #28054: Syndergaard refuses an MRI and pronounces himself ready to start on Sunday. For everyone's sake, I hope he's right.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 It's like he learned nothing from Harvey's pride-goeth-before-a-fall episodes.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 29, 2017 Author Posted April 29, 2017 You want to tell me that you have no faith in Mike Barwis to train you in the gym, that's fine. If you put no credence in a diagnosis from a doctor staring at a screen in his white coat at the hospital for special surgery, that's silly.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 Duda is back on Monday. I guess that Reynolds departs. I wouldn't mind Nimmo coming up and Granderson taking a break.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 I thought Syndergaard was joking. Oye.

I think there's little call for 13 pitchers or three catchers as it is.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 Good point. So many fringe major leaguers to choose from!

ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2017 Posted April 30, 2017 No Duda?http://www.nj.com/mets/index.ssf/2017/04/whats_wrong_with_mets_lucas_duda.html#incart_river_index
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 1, 2017 Author Posted May 1, 2017 Wilmer and Nimmo went 5-9 total with two homers (one each) and a double for St. Lucie yesterday. Wilmer played first and Nimmo DH'd.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 2, 2017 Posted May 2, 2017 Duda felt a "twinge" in his elbow in his first rehab game Friday. He will be reevaluated.I hope T.J. Rivera gets to stay.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 2, 2017 Author Posted May 2, 2017 Well, he's certainly ahead of Reynolds and Plawecki, so if the team gets Flores back, Rivera should be as safe as houses.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Just cueing this up for the next report on Travis d'boo boo
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2017 Posted May 5, 2017 The fact that just about every reference to Steven Matz's injury describes it as a "mysterious elbow ailment" doesn't really give me a warm fuzzy feeling.
