Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted November 12, 2016 Posted November 12, 2016 Road rage and Sultan.I really love how we get to re-live the season with these covers. Even if we weren't voting it's fun to just browse these.I think this is when we started realizing the Mets offense wasn't as good as we thought in April. Injuries and Conforto taking a downturn.

As I've said before, I think these covers are their own kind of pop art, and I like having them tell the story of the season. In the first round, the voting is just a bonus. It's in the later rounds, where the nostalgia ends and the gloves come off, that it becomes all about the voting, and shit gets real!
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 Rockie Road Rage. That's fun.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted November 16, 2016 Posted November 16, 2016 Nats on the cover? Fuck no.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted November 17, 2016 Author Posted November 17, 2016 I'm bumping this poll because it's currently tied. Voting will end on Saturday morning.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted November 18, 2016 Author Posted November 18, 2016 Bumping this for the final time. If it's still tied tomorrow morning, I'll post a tiebreaker poll.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 Wait. So only the winner moves on? Not the top 3?Wow, I am slow top pick up these rules.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted November 18, 2016 Author Posted November 18, 2016 Yes, that's right. Only the winner moves on.There are 32 first-round polls, to determine 32 finalists. After that, starting with the second round, it's NCAA-style one-on-one single elimination.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 All this time I thought it was like Round Robin, where the top 3 covers from Pool A move on, or something like that. That is pretty tough. I bet some of these second place covers could go pretty deep.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted November 18, 2016 Author Posted November 18, 2016 I guess it would have been more clear if, when a poll closed, I would post an update saying this poll has closed and this is the winning cover. But with a new poll being added to the forum every day, I don't want to add further clutter by bumping each poll as it closes. The polls that expire just fade gracefully to the back pages. Instead I periodically update the main thread as I did the other day.
