Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 Ha, I can't believe I forgot to post this here on the anniversary. But I just posted this somewhere here recently, didn't I? I posted it all over social media yesterday. I even tweeted a copy right to Dykstra.[fimg=500:1whjsqc0]https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/1tWT8Q8qwNnCjcBNeAMMhyko_XDISQiLG3DnGlol895kzlLkNxOkYPYfz414fbFt__KvjWMIFabjp0gWbHmL-TRi3VUdPfckyo2-wgtQW2sAsmwZoqSPKcE6iN_gnMqjqGOftLDggzM-saj2ZQjTYXIreQyPLyLbj8nDsOZ1-eU4cN7Ipnj0wfCgijtyqUqmtO4Gq9AuXlu9JPs8F95wrzOJ4Y9hpyRbWgAe7c2FUVqFwu8ec9YyalBIGHh4-7h0XiiWXureH82IIc_dqtnmNl3X787FPT36b9YXBZw7cmk1WiDcAgUxtJvVwJKdlnWmObWixK2f1AHPrIuZpWHynl6sYNE6vo4IkKSkjhCAiEoIzAS_9mZhs1MRhusB22bZ5Z8SQablIu8PZDHAENfsBWBS1luWIcwnmZ0xM2AaFWhn2AqPJilXNIyuRCMjg8VFKAMomxyZcvSqbbebRhjrPHcqN4oYoHoNOHA4cBBzdIoY2MZu_n1C1_Q5whAtRAxfAC48HSvS_y4YbsUF2c_Oiw97n3wg4BVjowd8QThjcRs1_ky9_eV1d6hzXwRpcItNzXqlS7-OlJuczfC03hf38X8lJNal4dwjTWtxBrDti6hbecwoZA=w1515-h1900-no[/fimg:1whjsqc0]
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2016 Author Posted October 12, 2016 Game 4, Oct 12 1986, was on Sunday night - the AL game got the afternoon start that day even though they were out on the west coast (noon start local time).http://www.leaptoad.com/mets/gamedetail.php?gameno=4013&tabno=DBut this was Mike Scott's game as the Mets managed one run on just 3 singles - and even the lone run only happened due one of Mookie's patented dashes from 1st to 3rd on a groundout which set up Danny Heep's Sac Fly.Sid, Roger, and Doug Sisk combined for a 4-hitter but two of those were HRs.I hope when Wally was bunting in the 9th down by 3 runs he was trying to get on instead of Sac bunt otherwise I'm going to have to have some words with both him and Davey.btw, Games 3 & 4 combined to take 5 Hours 18 minutes. Games 1 & 2 in the ongoing LAD/WAS series combined to go 8 Hours 12 Minutes while scoring a total of 18 runs compared to these two NYM/HOU games which combined for 14The one similarity between that year's games and this year's? Joe West was working both.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 I was at that game. It was the second postseason game I ever attended and the first involving the Mets.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 25, 2016 Author Posted October 25, 2016 I apparently neglected to follow up on this little project I started just as things were about to get good.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 I would love ESPN to do one of those sports science things based on momentum etc. to see if Mookie would have beat that out.I feel like he definitely would have beat Buckner to the bag. Stanley I'm not as sure.

HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 Yeah, it's unclear if iHeart will be simulcasting. They can't with live Mets games, but I have no idea what the MLB/satellite radio agreement for archived games is.
