(wait for it) ... blonds get more run.Pirates have lostMiami just scored 3 in the top 8th to go up 5-4 on the Phils Braves leading Nats 3-2 in the 6th (they've had rain delays)SF-StL scoreless in the 2nd
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 A Duda sighting, a Lagares sighting, a day of rest for Reed and Fammy and most of the starters, getting more out of Ynoa than you would have expected.....all in all, a good day even if it's against the Twinkies. They now control their destiny for the first Wild Card, and they smashed right through that 10 games over barrier. Keep it up, boys.

RealityChuck Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 Gavin Ceccini makes Bud Harrelson look like Frank Howard. I'm surprised he's not mistaken for the clubhouse boy.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 Why is Keith trying to hit his own disembodied head in the face with a bat?
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2016 Author Posted September 18, 2016 Hey poolers. How did Duda look?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 He wasn't ready. He wasn't sure what was coming, chased outside of the zone, and couldn't do anything with the curve. They pitched him down and away and he looked like bad Lucas. But he was big, strong, and goofy, and it was great to see him. Tomorrow is another day.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 Why is Keith trying to hit his own disembodied face in the head with a bat?Why are visions of Mets pitchers dancing around Rube Walkers head?Technically I should be able to answer both questions.I'm going to put together some stuff from my old drawings and hopefully get Keith to sign this (like I did back in the 80's) someday. I did a series of them. A bunch of different backgrounds. I'm looking for the right balance & composition with the images. Right after I made the other I thought I've got to get his fielding in there somehow. These are avatar versions. Original is wallpaper size. Should print up nice (minus the facsimile autograph, where I'd like him to sign).Cards beat the Giants. I think that's more of a :s :/

We now end the weekend up 1 and up 2Would being down 1 game to one team but up 4 on the other be a better scenario (the result had the Giants swept that series)? Maybe but not necessarily, and I'm not going to sweat it regardless.

Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 Things could not have gone better the last couple of weeks.Nice to see Bill and his brooms, hope to see him again soon!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 Well, I was hoping to see Bill after the Washington series. Had they swept the Nats, they'd be four games out with 13 to go.Yeah, I know. Eggs in my beer.

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 I agree with Namor. The sooner this becomes a two-team race the better. The Cardinals winning last night increases the chances of the Mets not making it at all.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2016 Author Posted September 19, 2016 Yeah, as far as the Mets' chances at making the post-season, the split was the worst scenario for the Mets. One team taking three games would have created some distance. A sweep would have been ideal.Anyway, the reason it's a good weekend is because the Mets swept the Twins. I think if the Mets keep sweeping their opponents, this will really help their playoff chances.
