Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 Pretend for a moment that you're Sandy, and that you haven't retired after winning the 2016 World Series, and it's the offseason. You're offered a trade for a piece you need - let's say, a better everyday catcher or whatever. It'll help next year for sure. But the opposing squad asks for either Lugo or Gsellman in the return package: Everything else is equal.Which guy do you trade? Explain...
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 Gsellman is 3 years younger, so I trade Lugo.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 Gsellman by rear naked choke. Bye Lugo.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 This is a variation on that diabolical Duda-vs.-Davis conundrum you kept posing ... until just that scenario eventually came to pass!
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 I don't know. I kinda really like Lugo. I'm thinking of asking him to go steady.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 I think I'd rather keep Lugo. But what do I know? I was firmly on Team Ike when we were weighing Davis vs. Duda.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 I'd have them wrestle in a steel cage death match (no holds barred) and keep the winner.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 I'm putting a wig and a bunch of tats on Rafael Montero and telling them it's either Gsellman or Lugo, and then not answering any return calls.

I was on Team Gazelle Man pretty hard till these lst 2 outings, now it looks like there's no right choice.I need to study what the projections, age, etc say on these guys before I answer.

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 He'll have more than Jay Bruce.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 To me, Gsellman's stuff/slightly-Bad-Wheelery results give him the glint of someone who'll maybe always be JUST about to happen, but never really HAPPEN happen, you know? I think Lugo has more meat to him. 3rd- starter- y meat, but still.

Seth is my keeper.Later
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 That shoulder injury that keeps Gsellman from batting could be the difference maker if they have to choose between the two for a potential post-season rotation.
