Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 I can say, "I was there". The most incredible inning I've seen live. And the second most incredible inning live for my wife, who was in the loge on 10/25/86.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 Holy fucking crap. What is there to even say. I remember years ago when I was a kid the Mets go no-hit by some Giants rookie named Chris Heston. I know it's hard for you kids to imagine this, but that Mets team had the worst offense in baseball. It's hard not to think of the 10 running inning against the Braves when you see something like that. The difference for me, was that it felt like the Braves inning could end at any time (I think a bunch of runs scored with 2 outs) but just kept going. Last night, it felt like they were going to bat for hours.Surprised no one has mentioned how similar the Cespedes HR was to Piazza's HR that capped that inning. Re-live that glorious moment again. It's too bad that it was a 45 degree night in April versus a jammed house in July.Fake tweet of the night:@kligtenberg46 to @mnbway:"Been there bro. Ur better than this. Tomorrow will be better!"
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 Big innings must be catching. Las Vegas put up a seven spot in the second inning of last night's victory, making a winner of starter Rafael Montero. This is fun.Later

Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 (edited) Cespedes is buying six-packs for everybody.Hard to imagine a more fun year than 2015, but dayum.Attended courtesy of a depressed Yankee fan's company seats. He was in total shock. The joint was absolutely jumping last night...... Edited April 30, 2016 by Guest
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 I just gave him six points in the voting. A couple of other guys deservedmore but it was a special performance in a special inning yesterday for Yo.

Last night was New Year's Rockin' Eve!Almost a full house, actually, for the first Friday night home game of the season. Lotta Giant fans, however, disappeared after the third for some reason.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 Reported attendance a couple hundred shy of 40,000. I always forget if thattickets sold or gate for some reason. It's something I certainly should know.
soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 I was there last night. There were a lot of peeps, it was a good crowd.I was extra thrilled when Yoenis hit the salami because I knew when he hit it that it was a new Met record for runs in an inning. I had been in attendance at Shea in '77(?) when the Mets scored 10 in an inning to set the record against the Reds(?) and I was also there in 2000 for the 10 run inning against the Braves. So for a good 12 hours - until I read this morning that they scored 11 in an inning against the Cubs at Wrigley in '06 - I was certain I was the only person to be in attendance at all three games where the Mets scored in double digits in one inning.Alas it is not so, however at least I can say that is true for home games.
