btw, 75 & Sunny is the forecast for KC, MO on Sunday.
Of course it'll be neither 75 nor sunny by the time 7:37 PM (local time) rolls around, but at least it won't be the potential weather disaster that you could run into with a night game in early April.

I agree, it looks stupid and confusing. But the image is selected by the marketing dept and the billing order is determined by contract, so this happens alot. Still, marketing should use an image that's consistent with the billing requirements.

why are the actor names above the wrong actors? Did no one proofread this?

I don't understand why, but this has long been the standard. At least, it has been since I was kid gazing at this poster.

Take, for comparison, this poster above.

Not that it doesn't look like two hours of work tops went into that Two Night Stand poster.

would be ridiculously easy to flip that one it horizontally, or design it in a way that's not right above their heads.

The grease one too would flip horizontally easily.

The Three Kings one you slide Clooney up into the middle and have the other two lower down. done.

I don't think it's a standard; I just think that it hasn't mattered. The order of billing is the most important thing. The next important thing is the image. If the billing and the image are not aligned, it's not considered important.

Man, that looks like it could be a film I turn off really early.

And I did.
Well maybe not really early but once Act 1 was done with -- where the cute but unemployed girl on the rebound uses the interwebs to find a hook-up for the night and then gets trapped in his place by a massive snowstorm that they both didn't know was coming or even that it had happened until after the inevitable morning-after spat -- so was I.
I think they patch it up in the end and go on to live happily ever after, or at least as long as whatever qualifies as 'ever after' in the Manhattan singles scene today, but I wasn't around for that part.

I found a surprising dearth of good movies with 'Two' in the title.

That 'Grease' poster was the first one I thought of, both because it was the first time I remember seeing that kind of 'mix-up' and because the faces and credits look like they're synched up so perfectly that I was sure it had to be a screw-up.
Plus it's such an obvious publicity shot you figure it would have occurred to someone to have the actors switch places, but maybe Travolta's contract called for him to only be shot from his left side or that he insisted on getting his way because he was prettier than her.

A vertical flip, admittedly not quite as easy without Photoshop, still achieves that.

I mean, I come at this from a UI design standpoint so these are things I just think about, but still. It says a lot about Hollywood to me that the billing order is more important than the aesthetic appeal to the paying customer. Of course, in many cases these stars are literally in the movie as marketing tools themselves over spending more time crafting a story so..

anyway, the Mets. it's like 2 days away and stuff! neaat! And we'll get to relive all the World Series highlights I bet!

I think it's made more confusing because:

1. We have no idea who these people are
2. Girl names and boy names are getting more and more ambiguous.

I rejected this choice on account of my prejudice against sequels that had no reason to be made.

Wasn't half bad.

WRT The Two Towers, it isn't really a subtitle so much as The Lord of the Rings is a supertitle, despite the relative font sizes on the poster.

with all the talk about KC wanting to "retaliate" against the Mets because of Syndegaard's knock-down pitch in the WS, i wouldn't be surprised, or the least bit unhappy, if Harvey put the first guy he faces on his ass. He's just the kind of a#@hole to do it, god bless him.

This one's a triple threat:

Less than 24 hours!

NY Mets at Kansas City
When: 8:37 PM ET, Sunday, April 3, 2016
Where: Kauffman Stadium, Kansas City, Missouri
SportsDirect Inc

The Kansas City Royals begin defense of their World Series crown against the team they sent home last fall when they host the New York Mets on Sunday. The two-time defending American League champion needed five games to top New York and claim their second World Series title, and has largely kept its core intact, re-signing star left fielder Alex Gordon and filling small holes elsewhere to form a roster that they said could even improve upon 2015.

"We've got the same pieces. We've got a little better," third baseman Mike Moustakas told reporters. "And we've got the same mindset, so there is no telling what we can accomplish. We've just got to go out there and do it." There has been talk in recent days of Kansas City retaliating for a purpose pitch by Mets flamethrower Noah Syndergaard to open Game 3 of the World Series, adding an element of intrigue to this two-game, three-day series, but several Royals shot down such talk. New York, which opened 2015 at 13-3, will be looking to get off to another solid start behind right-hander Matt Harvey, who struggled during the spring and also recently dealt with a blood clot in his bladder. The Mets went winless in their final 13 Grapefruit League games before splitting a pair with the Chicago Cubs in Las Vegas.

TV: 8:37 p.m. ET, ESPN

PITCHING MATCHUP:
Mets RH Matt Harvey (2015: 13-8, 2.71 ERA) vs. Royals RH Edinson Volquez (2015: 13-9, 3.55)

Harvey had a solid rebound after missing all of 2014 to recover from Tommy John surgery, ranking in the top 10 in the National League in ERA and WHIP (1.019) and winning the league's Comeback Player of the Year Award. He rebounded from the bladder issue to toss two innings Wednesday against Washington but gave up a three-run homer to lift his spring training ERA to 7.50, some of which was the result of nine walks in 12 innings. The 27-year-old gave up five runs in 14 innings in two World Series starts - both no-decisions - against the Royals, but has never faced them in the regular season.

After several down years, Volquez has put up 13 wins and a sub-4.00 ERA in two straight seasons and he was on the mound opposite Harvey in the Game 5 clincher Nov. 1. The 32-year-old, who is 2-5 with a 5.70 ERA in nine career starts against the Mets, tossed a career-high 200 1/3 innings in 2015 before adding another 28 2/3 in the playoffs. New York right fielder Curtis Granderson, third baseman David Wright and second baseman Neil Walker are a combined 5-for-39 with seven strikeouts against Volquez.

WALK-OFFS:
1. Syndergaard gets the nod for the second game Tuesday and will likely oppose Royals RHP Chris Young, who is expected to replace RHP Ian Kennedy (hamstring).
2. Royals CF Lorenzo Cain hit .337 at home last season.
3. This marks New York's first regular-season visit to Kansas City since 2004.
