Farmer Ted Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Probably the worst haircut on the team, but I don't care. Yeah records were made to be broken, even for the most strikeouts in a series. But you know what? Every now and then, I'm going to get mine. Sometimes it means a blast to the Pepsi Porch. Other times it means being patient and looking at a few balls. Because as my Little League coach taught me, a walk is as good as a hit. And when I have the wily Daniel Murphy in front of me (a base running savant) you need to be patient. And patience is a virtue.I'm Lucas Duda and I'm badass.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 No doubt a yuge walk last night.

Guest cooby Guests Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 It's okay Lucas. Now you have time for a hitting streak!
Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 The look back at the ump as if to say "Wait, the Great Greinke really just issued a Base on Balls?" was great. I wonder if it was enough of a distraction that it contributed to the Dodgers' infield collective brainfart re: covering third base.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 I think we should incorporate more of this. And Lucas Duda is perfect for this. After a walk:1. Lucas Duda pretends to choke on his tobacco. Pitcher runs over and gives the Heimlich. Runners circle the bases.2. Lucas Duda delivers a stirring monologue. Runners circle the bases.3. Lucas Duda belts out a Puccini aria. Everyone is moved. No one notices the runners circling the bases.4. Lucas Duda moonwalks to first. Pitcher takes exception. Benches empty. Runners circle the bases.

Cederstrom's one of those guys who takes a long time to signal balls and strikes. For a second or two nobody was sure it was ball four and it kind of put everybody out of synch. Greinke had his head down. Murph was the only one thinking in that spot.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Someone in the IGT mentioned that. The ump calls balls and strikes like he forgets that it is his job to do so.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 That said, I liked Cederstrom's strike zone.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 No low strikes until about midway through the game, and nothing on the outside corner, regardless of handedness? I mean, it beat the floatin' zone from probs of Games 1 and 2...My Duda Game 5 MVP prediction? Did I mention that my third eye is operating on a 48- hour delay? Well, it is. Boo Radley's Unholy Revenge, all up and down Flushing/Wrigleyville this week.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 Color makes it more readable. And I can't use one caption by a brother without using the caption by my other brother, cuz that's the way I roll, man. So the second is also suggested by another brother, and I said I'll go with that if I can have Peter make a cameo.[fimg=400:9yexhawn]https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-w4CHr0OfS5A/Vil7iipSozI/AAAAAAAAiVw/JyzqZttMGyY/s912-Ic42/2015mfcNLCSgm4-DUDA-BTTFc-z15.png[/fimg:9yexhawn][fimg=500:9yexhawn]https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-A1-0rLeSk6I/VimA2fEWpoI/AAAAAAAAiWI/rAy3oDYDg30/s912-Ic42/2015mfcNLCSgm4-DUDAcomesALIVE-z15.png[/fimg:9yexhawn]
