Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 6, 2015 Author Posted October 6, 2015 I would encourage all 20 of you Uribe voters to pick another dude.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Done! I switched to Nieuwenhuis.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 6, 2015 Author Posted October 6, 2015 And three others as well. But 16 Uribe voters remain.Switch your vote! Don't be a dumbass like Harvey!
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 My Uribe vote went to Nieuwenhuis too.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 I ditched Torres & Uribe and went with Goeddel & Reed.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 I hate that Uribe isn't able to play. I gave his spot to Nieuwenhuis.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Had Nieuwy all along but just deleted Uribe and, in a nod to reality, Verrett. Welcome back Goeddel (and Niese, who I left off earlier in an episode of passive-aggressiveness).Adam says Gilmartin or Torres will be the 11th pitcher brought along if Matz doesn't make it.
Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 One more switch from Uribe to Nieuwenhuis.I'm the only voter who didn't include Reed on the roster. 20 innings or so and two undeservedly earned runs is pretty good. But his career is only so-so. I took Gilmartin and Goeddel in the pen along with the usual suspects.

I'm really hoping Friday to compare the team we wanted with the team we get.

Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 I didn't realize we could tweak. When does the poll close?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 6, 2015 Author Posted October 6, 2015 Officially, never, I think. But in the spirit of the thing, I guess it closes when the Mets announce their roster.
Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Are they able to reset their roster for future series if Matz or Uribe are healthy again?
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Sean, Gil and Martin are the 26th man in case of Matzless playoffs (he needs three first names to replace him). Carlos Torres has been dispatched to Port St. Lucie. Alex Torres is shopping at Lids and getting nowhere.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Goeddel and Newy in. Gilmartin out.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 I may pull a Terry Collins and pee my pants waiting for 9:45.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 9, 2015 Author Posted October 9, 2015 Amazin'. If you give the Nieuwenhuis/Uribe tie to Nieuwie, we practically have the same team the Mets chose. Our only mistake is carrying them both, while throwing Goeddel overboard.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 We were unanimous on 16 of the 25 roster spots. The nine who we didn't all agree on were as follows. (The number after each name is the number of people here who deemed the player unworthy.)[list:3h08sufu]Colon 2 Goeddel 15 Niese 6 Reed 1Robles 3Plawecki 4Conforto 1Cuddyer 2Nieuwenhuis 16[/list:u:3h08sufu]
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 9, 2015 Author Posted October 9, 2015 Terry has a job for himself. More than half his pitching staff are starting pitchers, and all his offensive players save for Plawecki and Nieuwenhuis were starters or platooners for most or all of the season.Daniel Murphy could start every game. Kelly Johnson could start none. But I'd hate to drive a truck through the difference between the two.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 I assume we'll roll into the NLCS with the same roster that we had at the close of the NLDS? Latest reports indicate that Juan Uribe is still not ready to play. I'm not sure what other moves they might make. Perhaps swap Goeddel for someone else? I don't expect that they'll do that, but when do we know for sure?
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 I poked around but couldn't find a deadline but I imagine it's latethis afternoon sometimes?
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 I was hoping that Uribe would be well enough to join the team, but I had not heard anything regarding his status. If he is unavailable, then I believe the Met will leave the roster the same as it was for the NLDS.
RealityChuck Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Sandy is saying he won't be available.I hope that the Mets blow out the Cubs so much that Matt Reynolds gets to play.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 16, 2015 Author Posted October 16, 2015 I'm guessing that Jerry Blevins is right out.One thing about the Cubsters is that the numbers suggest they're lefty-vulnerable.
