Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 My radio feed has a terrifically misguided series of Flo-starring Progressive ads that make this evening all the more misbegotten.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 I don't even know why I'm getting my blood up. This was not a must win game for us. We have some soft teams coming up. I'm still very confident that we will make the post. But if things go south between now and Oct. this will be pointed at as the turning point and Harvey's career in a Mets uniform might never recover from the flack.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 The Magic Number is 8 with 13 to play. The math is on our side.

Allowed the MFYs to gain a game on Toronto going into their series -- when they could and should have destroyed thier chances. And even if you don't care how much help the Mets gave the MFYs, we lost games to Washington and failed to take opportunities to better position ourselves vs. LA for the postseason. More to the point, we hit, pitched and fielded poorly.
Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 Harvey was the only good Met in this game. Everyone else sucked. At any rate, we'll laugh about this one in October.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 I'm glad. I was thinking she was missing on this series. I'll let her know otherwise, least as far as Massachusetts is concerned.Good people paid good money, Mets. Don't be fuckin' around.

If this team doesnt make the playoffs everybodys point to how they lost ascendency in the Marlins series. When a team plunks your best hitter in the middle of a pennant race, you go out and plunk 3 hitters the next day-- just like Maddons team did. You dont go out and do a Shawn Estes and call it even. Theres no chivalry in professional sports, much less in baseball.

Start another media firestorm? Will that work? And what can Sandy do here? Fire Terry, make himself manager, and have Harvey pitch the whole game? Do you think Sandy ordering Terry to make Harvey pitch the whole game is the solution? It all started with the agent and the player.

I didn't see the Cespedes HBP, but if it it's deliberate, fine. Charge the mound. Start a bench clearing brawl if needed. It's fairer than throwing at some other guy who had nothing to do with it. And shutting the other guys out while hitting a home run is damned good revenge. But, never mind that. Welcome back.
