Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 The main reason to go to Familia is if you are operating under the philosophical position that you've already burned him by warming him up.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 d'Arnaud just LAUNCHED the throw-down into center. Bad omen, man.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Why have Torres lead off the inning if you weren't planning to send him back out to pitch the bottom half of the inning. I understand that the situation subsequently changed wth the Mets scoring 4 runs, but I just don't see the need to use Familia in this spot. Let's finish this one and put the Phillies out of their misery.

Warm ups are stress free pitches. There's a difference with in-game pitches. He should have gotten the night off unless it was impossible. And don't mind me cause truth is I have nothing to complain about.

Whitey Herzog's position was that, if he warmed you up twice but didn't put you in, head for the showers and join us in the dugout after. Your work day is done.
