Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Yeah, what cheapskates! They should have given up more!
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Hey, if they need a pinch-runner in a big spot in September, now they've got one.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 That's a good point. After September 1 he won't have to displace anybody, and he could come in handy.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2015 Author Posted August 22, 2015 Agreed. He could be very useful down the stretch.

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 True, I hadn't considered that.Did Puello's release free up a spot on the 40-man roster?

MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 I hope he has to be used - infrequently.Later

He may never play, but his skills match places where the Mets are poor. There's no real downside.

I don't care if he gets a single AB, but if he steals a single crucial base or scores from first on a double it's worth it.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 agreed. on a 25-man roster he doesnt really have a spot but on a 40-man roster "dedicated pinch runner" is a useful spot to fill, even if its unlikely he'll really do anything up here
