Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Name the date of the MLB debut for Stevie Matz. NAME IT!
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 July 7 in San Fran. We'll be there!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 17, 2015 Author Posted June 17, 2015 He goes today against Lago de Sal. I'd guess it's his last go, but there's a day off on the 22nd and another on the 29th, so there's no immediate need for a sixth starter. I'm going with Sunday, July 5th in LA.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 6th Starter Day would make a lot of sense, and Niese will conveniently come down with an oblique or gout or Scratchy Beard Syndrome or some such shortly thereafter.....

MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 He and Niese are still on the same pitching schedule.Just sayin'.Later
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 17, 2015 Author Posted June 17, 2015 Niese did fine tonight.Matz, however, did superfine this afternoon in Utah. Fine-plus-plus.PlayerIPHRERBBSOHRERASteven Matz (W, 7-4)7.04001502.11
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 25, 2015 Author Posted June 25, 2015 Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal taking time off from his run in Orville Redenbocker Live! to tweet that Matz's promotion is about to happen and an announcement will come later today. He has no explicit confirmation.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 25, 2015 Author Posted June 25, 2015 I smell a trade. Laggy is sitting. Matz is coming. So I close my eyes and see Laggy and Niese going to the Cubs for somebody.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 If they do the 6-man rotation again I'm going to have an aneurysm.

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Then they'll have to battle it out to see who will be the 1000th Met!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 25, 2015 Author Posted June 25, 2015 I'm getting the idea that Go-Go isn't really close to 100%.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 25, 2015 Author Posted June 25, 2015 Oops, Laggy can't be traded. I just heard a commercial saying he's going to be at the Steiner store in Roosevelt field next week.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Lagares is more likely to end up on the DL than he is to be traded. Elbows and armpits are tricky things.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 25, 2015 Author Posted June 25, 2015 Puma says he has a reliable source telling him there's nothing hap'nin' on the trade front right now.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Well, the countdown is zero. LET'S DO THIS, MATZ.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Edgy MD wrote:Puma says he has a reliable source telling him there's nothing hap'nin' on the trade front right now.probably the least reliable beat guy.I saw a tweet that Nieses might be expecting. (something in the water?)also Lagares says the armpit thing is fine, and him hitting some again probably indicates that.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Unfortunately Lagares' problem is now with the elbow which has sharply curtailed his ability to throw.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Matz up, Niese to pen...Source: Gleam in Terry's post-game eye.
