Flores is beginning to look like the Met's best offensive weapon. Yes, offensive weapon is an oxymoron as related to the Mets.

Well, the Giants sure did switch up from getting infield hits.
And now Aoki gets his 17th hit of the series so far. And, unlike NYM leadoff doubles, I'm betting the Giants are going to figure out a way to bring him in.

we'll get a few days or weeks of anti Dark Knight/Harvey Day talk, which is really the exact same thing, and then he'll be dominate again and we'll be back to it.

what gives you CAHNfidence Harvey is any good anymore? He's basically the Cuddyer of pitching lately.

Because 3 of 4 bad starts is a small sample? Because he's pretty much always been good and that he's just a bit off right now is what makes the most sense given what we know about him, his stats, his injury history, etc?

Also Cuddyer is hitting .314/.359/.465 over the last 28 days, and is slightly above average on the season offensively.

Never was in the Harv-is-godlike club but maybe all those no
decisions while pitching lights out got into his swelled head?

Maybe someone's out there writing about this (maybe i should?) but there's plenty of questions in my mind about the pitch selection and game play last night.

Ron Darling was going on and on about it and I barely watched the broadcast. Harvey allowed his first HR on an 0-2 pitch, ever.

It's Travis d'Arnaud's first game back. Were they on the same page? Was the game plan different last night? HAS there been a concerted effort to occasionally pitch to more contact? (Which is really stupid)

The Mets are throwing more balls in the zone, striking out more guys but walking fewer. (This was one of Ron's points) The scouting reports may have adjusted, it's time to adjust back. Slow adjustments to hitter adjustments has been one of my long standing points of contention with Mets pitchers. Ron suggested throwing a few more way inside. Make them uncomfortable. You can probably miss on any side of the zone you want though, if guys are more apt to swing because they know it's a high-probably "in the zone" pitch, they're going to swing at more balls too. So make them do that. (This is where it's okay, if you hit your spot, to be okay with contact.)

I wish I had the time to really dig into these numbers. Like, what's the opponents swing% in June versus April-May?

edit: 46.7% opponent swing percentage in April, 48.4% in June if I'm reading that right.
