There should be a card for the black cat.

I get the Metly connection, the VERY Metly connection, but I don't think Ralph Kiner ever wore a Mets uniform.

I remember when the Mets got Jose Cardenal. I was on vaycay, heard it on the radio. I was angry. How could the Mets still be getting those old ballplayers. Why not some younger ones? When I got home, I looked him up and found he was younger than I was.

I had no idea Ashburn played for the Cubs!

Who's the guy between Ken Henderson and '81 Kingman? Appears to be an infielder of recent vintage, but name is obscured by COMC watermark.

Swisher coached in the mid-90s, no?

Several interlopers on the multi-player cards (Gorman Thomas, Dave Dowling, Phil Norton) -- but everyone else has a bona fide Metly connection, even if I THOUGHT WE ALL AGREED NEVER TO MENTION MEL ROJAS AGAIN.

HEY! I just dedicated my entire year to Mel Rojas! Go easy on him!

Just looked in the '95 Information Guide, Swisher was in-
deed Green's bullpen coach. I'm impressed!

Steve also got me by recalling Dave LaRoche as the 19921993 bullpen coach. Lots of bullpen coach knowledge going around.

Interesting LaRoche fact: Dave, despite his francophonic surname, identifies as Mexican-American (as do Adam and Andy, to lesser extents). He was born "Davd Garcia," but took a stepfather's name at the age of seven.

The extras on the multi-player cards don't count as interlopers because, for the most part, they're there by necessity. Without including Dowling, for example. I wouldn't have been able to post a Connors card.

It's not a perfect rule. Gorman Thomas doesn't have to be in the OP because there are numerous solo Kingman Cub cards. But the rule's good enough. Besides, I identified just one interloper, so that alone should rule out anyone appearing on a multi-player card.

I've also included coaches, to spice up this feature. Fittingly, I started the trend with the Cubs. You might say that this is my Cubs collage of coaches.

So who's the interloper? Opinions might vary, but I'd say it's Phantom Met Randy Bobb, who made the 25 man roster, and suited up for the Mets, and sat in their dugout, and hoped to get in a game. But because he never did, Bobb's not considered a Met. I'd quibble with that historical interpretation. But that's for another day.

Butterball Bobb, including the tarp, Clendenon Field, and a newly discovered fence entranceway.

Every former Met plays a role in our teams history. Its great to celebrate the Wrights and Harveys. But someone has to remember the Rojases.

Well said!

Swapped out a screwy Tommy Davis card featuring conflicting team name and uni for a more conventional looking one. Davis might hold the Topps record for appearing on screwy looking cards.

Whoa! I've never seen anything like that! Is it an O-Pee Chee?
