Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Very nice Soupy 3-1 Mets on the sac fly to right.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Prado should be on the nemesis list. Hits a line single. Get somebody up Terry.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 YES! Cuddy & Murph back 2 back doubles.4-1 NY
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 I dunno. I think I want Fammy out there in the 9th until we lose one here at home.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Oh, that was just speculation in the booth. They have a point, but I look at this as riding a wave.Familia to close.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 basehit for Morse. Going for future nemesis status. Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Nice game. Colon is winning me back to his side.I'm not sure how I manage in yesrs when we don't have the best centerfielder in baseball.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 I watched innings 2-9 of this game but could not post because my house is infested with [crossout:2us4utfg]termites[/crossout:2us4utfg] in-laws.

Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 It's a bit of a struggle, really. To be fair, I don't hate Billy Joel, and given how low the bar was set in the past with things like "Sweet Caroline," this is certainly an improvement of sorts. I just wish the singalong could be an upbeat song instead.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Kind of indifferent to it myself. I objected to 'Sweet Caroline' simply on the blatant and unimaginative copy-cat nature of the whole move and I wonder now how much brain-storming went into the process before they came up with Piano Man ... "we've got to find us a song with a sing-along chorus and nobody leaves this room until we have one!!"
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Not entirely a depressing song but certainly more of a downer than an upper. I'm gonna do the chicken dancewhen I'm there and they play it.
dinosaur jesus Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Beats "Captain Jack," I guess.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 The obvious sing-along choice for Mets games is Meet the Mets, with the full "butcher and baker" lyrics.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Sure, that. Or any of a dozen Ramones songs. Or "Good Lovin'." Or "Rock Box." Or "Cecilia."O, I don't know, "Mr. Brightside."The logic that "Mets" means "Queens/Brooklyn/Long Island" and "Q/B/LI" means "Billy Juckets" and "BJ" means "Piano Man" is just so lazy. Even "You May Be Right" or "Sometimes a Fantasy" or "All for Leyna" would have been thoughtful.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 I don't see the need to attach to the Mets to any one artist on a daily basis. Then again I don't care much for Billy Joel. And at least it is not Kate Smith.
