Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 I'll happily lick the egg off my face. (Provided they don't go 19-28 down the stretch)
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Let's talk about egg. dgwphotography Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 There's no egg. I expected this to be a disappointing season with good pitching and very little else. After the events of the last 2+ weeks, I feel like I'm playing with house money, and am just enjoying the ride.

G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Congratulations Ceetar nailing the 90-72 record and the first-place finish. The prediction will be perfect if he's chilling on Lower Broadway a few weeks hence.metsmarathon also called 90-72, but said it would be good for a second-place finish (and an NLDS loss).

Farmer Ted Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 I somehow didn't get in this poll (prolly because I HAT all of you!). In any case, my best case scenario was 81-81. 2016 was going to be the "Harvey and Parnell are all better now" year. Little did I know Sandy had the keys to a spare stack of cash. But I NEVER doubted Terry. Good golly I love Terry. Lubba wubba.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Well done Ceetar!!! Kinda swept in by the last week lol.LETS GO METS!
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 My certainty about the 82-80 record was based on 3 things: 1) Good pitching. 2) Inept hitting. 3) An unwillingness by the Wilpons/Sandy to go for it at the trade deadline.1) was true all year2) was true until about July 25th3) totally surprised me when they did.Had this team remained on the same trajectory as they had been for the first 3 3/4 months of the season, they'd have limped along to the end as a barely .500 team with occasional flashes of brilliance. That they actually made moves to change that trajectory (and that the moves actually worked) is the real story of this season.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Gratz Ceetar! Predictions on the post season please...I think Edgy's optimism deserves something. This is more than likely the closest I've ever come to winning this thing.
