Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Mets launching a nine-game homestand, and I expect nothing short of a sweep. But you've got to take it one game at a time, and this one involves Josh Beckett and Rafael Montero. I don't want the Mets to chase Beckett from the game. I want them to chase him from the profession. NOT a fan.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 20, 2014 Author Posted May 20, 2014 Metly speculation is that Montero may have been tipping his pitches in the start against the Yankees. My further speculation suggests that, with no runs, he wasn't going to win anyhow.Jake deGrom still a Met as of this hour.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 20, 2014 Author Posted May 20, 2014 The nuts and bolts stuff of announcing, reading the lineup or stat lines, continues to be occasionally flummoxing to Keith.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 20, 2014 Author Posted May 20, 2014 Puig turns an excellent pitch into a single.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 20, 2014 Author Posted May 20, 2014 So the dying family member turned out to be Lagares' aunt, who raised him.So effectively, he was dealing with a dying mother this week. Maybe we can give Terry a little bit of a break.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 20, 2014 Author Posted May 20, 2014 Nice to see Wright not chasing away.Whacks a ball but gets robbed by Crawford.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 20, 2014 Author Posted May 20, 2014 "Nine Gold Gloves. I think if Don hadn't've hurt his back, I think he wouldn't overtook me in most Gold Gloves."Very gracious of you, Keith, but don't go crazy.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 20, 2014 Author Posted May 20, 2014 Turner all trimmed neatly in the beard and his shag clipped into a mullet.Centeno puts a Dodger on third.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 20, 2014 Author Posted May 20, 2014 And a cue shot gives the Dodgies the lead.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 20, 2014 Author Posted May 20, 2014 Bezzes loaded and Puig at the plate. Three walks this inning. This could be the game right here.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 20, 2014 Author Posted May 20, 2014 Duda and Flores putting on a sorry display of the Mets team speed, but they get the run back.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Flores gets the RBI, but he's just not fast, is he?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 20, 2014 Author Posted May 20, 2014 Nope, and Duda was running like he was pushing a wheelbarrow.Booth carrying on about Young lifting his front foot when breaking. EVERYBODY lifts their front foot. It's just the nature of mechanics.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Monteros best inning. If he finds a groove we got this one.Gee needs a rehab start? Geez.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 20, 2014 Author Posted May 20, 2014 Lucas, you don't need to be sly to bunt. Just make contact.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 And, once again, other players don't have a problem hitting HRs in CitiField. We, in the meantime, are working on two hits: Granderson's double which was an inch (or maybe less) from being foul, and Flores's infield hit which should have been an out.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Montero, like Wheeler, too much dickin' around anywhere but in the strike zone. Too many pitches. He won't go 6. Disappointing.
