metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 unadjusted for schaefer limitations, i had niese at 7.6 for the april 18th game. its not that he was particularly outstanding, just that, relative to everything else in that game, and my translation of doing good things into schaefer votes, he was.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 Crap. I didn't praise Newy on the 25th for his double. I'm going to have to correct that. So I just go and change the numbers? Or is it too late for that? Also, you don't want msg's like this in the actual vote thread, right?
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 25th is still active, just edit it.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2014 Author Posted April 28, 2014 Yes, Zvon, you can edit your vote up until the voting has been closed. (That's when the graphic showing the results is posted.) And no, no non-voting messages in the voting thread, at least, not until after the voting has been closed.Thanks.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Thanks guys. I'm hoping to get the new members into the voting thing and a lil clarification of what we do here can't hurt. I know when I first got here I was a little reticent about joining in until Ben told me that if we make the post season all voters will be shipped a case of Schaefer. (lets see if that works)

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2014 Author Posted May 1, 2014 Thanks guys. I'm hoping to get the new members into the voting thing and a lil clarification of what we do here can't hurt.Zvon, for more information about how all this works, check out this page and this page. That second link will be seven years old in a few days, but it's still relevant. A couple of other points: When voting for Eric or Chris Young, CYoung and EYoung are preferred. C. Young and E. Young will also work, but it's better without the dot. But please include the first initial! When I spot some voting for just "Young" I have to nag them to edit their vote. Also, d'Arnaud is preferred to dArnaud. (Thanks!)The most frequently misspelled names so far this year are Nieuwenhuis (not suprisingly) and Tejada and Farnsworth. I think the name that, historically, had the most challenging spelling was Francoeur, but that hasn't come up recently! Thanks to everyone who's been participating, and especially to those who have been starting the voting threads. We're almost at the end of the first month of the season. Look for the announcement of the April award winners some time over the weekend. Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2014 Author Posted May 1, 2014 No biggie! You've been properly identifying your Youngs, and that's much appreciated!

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2014 Author Posted May 13, 2014 The 1-0 loss to the Marlins on May 7 was only the second time in CPF Schaefer history that only two players received Schaefer points. There has never been a game where only one player received points.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2014 Author Posted May 13, 2014 Now, let me anticipate your next question The most players ever to receive Schaefer points in a single game is 17, and that too has happened twice:
