Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Tough to blame Jerry Family for that inning.- a catchable pop-up (EYJr's no-triples defense again)- a broken-bat seeing-eye hit- passed ball was on d'Arnaud
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Damn. I like the slider there but it wasn't a good one. Desmond lifts it.k, we're not gonna let it end here right guys? A few more innings of torture please...
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 EVERY SINGLE walk has burned us today.

ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Replay is going to get old in a hurry...
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Ka-plotz.Maybe this is going to be the one game that's the difference between Drew and Tejada. It'd be nice to put that behind us.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Is "challenging" up by 4 runs the same as stealing a base up 4 runs?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 He's welcome to challenge. He's entitled to strive to keep the inning going and I'm not about to ask for pity.I mean, play nice, but play to win.

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 In positive news, Wilson Ramos left with a broken hand. #angry
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Thing is, there's almost no point in Williams NOT challenging that play - either it keeps the inning going or he's no worse off than he was before and it was unlikely that he was going to need that challenge for later on. And situations like that are why replay is going to be used more often than some think.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Bottom line: They walked a lot, we struck out a lot.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 And fittingly it ends on a K
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 thats a strike? it wasnt a strike a half dozen times for mets pitchers today.

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Didn't take long to get the first cock-punch loss of the year.Fuck you Mets.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Drinks on Tim Welke tonight!Helluva job by the bullpen, other than Valverde. And having Q off the bench... well done Sandy!
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Not clear enough on the rules I guess, I thought managers couldn't challenge from the 7th inning on?
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Miscellaneous:Crowd was very welcoming to Granderson. Lesser cheers for Chris Young and Colon. Biggest cheers for Wright, Harvey and Wheeler.I think Valverde is basically ticking dynamite but he was throwing 92 and got the big Ks, so good for him.Davis does not look at all improved at the plate.

This is in addition to managers' challenges if they didn't use it up in the early innings.
