The third-place Mets' elevation proceeds, one hopes, approximately 1,100 feet above sea level, as Jeremy Hefner attempts to whack him some Snakes.

I don't know. Feeling good after the sweep, but I got a bad feeling about Hef pitching in that launching pad.

Prove me wrong!

It's a launching pad for us too.

Does kind of have that Gee in Citizens Bank Park feel to it, don't it?
On the other hand, Gee has problems with that team (and specifically that 1st baseman) over and above whatever troubles he has with the venue.

Young - LF
Lagares - CF
Murphy - 2B
Byrd - RF
Satin - 1B
Turner - SS
Flores - 3B
Buck - C
Hefner - P

Damn. I don't agree booth. I could see the play behind him. He was a dead duck. It was close tho, and they did have to execute. Shudda held him to 3.

I thought that too -- no outs and a runner on 3rd? I take my chances that they can bring him in on an out instead of risking it.

The more they show that replay the more I think that was a bad call to send Byrd. Its true that the throws had to be good but they didn't have to be rushed or perfect. And they weren't.

How dare they?

Young went back well on that fly. I like.

Sheesh. They are launching them off Hef but they aren't carrying. Or something.

They can't do that to our pledges, only we can do that to our pledges.

It was a terrible send with no outs.

And suddenly the wheels have come off....

Hef does not have it tonight. They've been hitting him hard the last few innings. That one to center carried. Prado belted that. I'm amazed its only 2-1.

NYM Pitchers hitting this season: .100/.130/.120 - 4 XBHs (all doubles)
Opponent pitchers* hitting against NYM this season: .160/.202/.244 -- 19 XBHs (12 doubles + 7 HRs)

* includes all #9 hitters so may include a few non-pitcher ABs - can't find stats for pitchers alone

That NYM pitcher hitting is the worst in the league. We're losing the hitting battle badly from that particular spot.

Hefs curve has a little snap but other than that forgetaboutit. Good thing we can put fielders out there while they hit batting practice.
