A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 So that's why they were sucking Rivera's dick before the game. Farewell, Mariano!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 I almost saw Duda's lips moving during that interview.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 First time in Rivera's career that he's come in, given up three hits, two runs, lost the game and didn't get an out.

MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 I just KNOW the VYF in my office is going to blame it on the fact Rivera had to pitch twice tonight (once before the game).Y'know what?Fuck him.I got out of work, turned on the radio in my car just in time to hear Terry get tossed and the score 1-0 MFYs. Then I turned it off. Did Terry have a legit complaint? What was the play?Later
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Rich Coutinho ?@coutinho9 6hClassy move by wilpons having mariano throw our first pitch rivera personfies qualities of hunger and humility as well as anyone. We should make a run at this Rivera guy when the trade deadline rolls around.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 First time in Rivera's career that he's come in, given up three hits, two runs, lost the game and didn't get an out.Yeah, Game 7 2001 WS doesn't quite count. In that one he faced six hitters, gave up two runs, but did get one out.Of course there's a caveat in that one as two of the batters he faced that night were trying to make an out: Single - Sac Bunt (Error), Sac Bunt/Force, Double, HBP, GW SingleCome to think of it he also pitched a 1-2-3 8th inning too that night.

Tried to slide back on the pick off and got blocked by so he never got his hand in. the umpire initially thought his hand was in there though, and started to signal safe before calling him out, and that's what set off Terry.

His complaint seemed to be that the ump changed his call mid-play. But Tejada was out when the ump made the wrong call and he was still out when he made the right one. Terry was probably more interested in firing up his team, which didn't really work, as they continued to play sloppy. Murphy's hit sure fired 'em up, though.Speaking of sloppy, this Sunday catcher the Yanks are running out there has had a lot of balls just go through his mitt. He should be on the next train to King of Prussia or wherever the Yankees send their AAA players.
