Guys and Ronnie are saying on the broadcast that Terry still expects Marcum to make his next ST start and not miss time.

We'll see.

Den Dekker. Wrist X-Rays.

Say what you want about Jordany, but if he's the last man standing, he's the last man standing.

Bean him in the balls, and he's back at it the next day. No small thing.

X-rays are positive. Broken wrist, surgery possible.

There is a bone that typically goes in your wrsit when you break your fall..That is the schaphoid...12 weeks in a cast after surgery should that be the case.

I wonder whether he'll opt for a cast like this -

Awful. One of the few reasons I had a modicum of hope for the Mets. Now we get more of Sandy's AAAA Crap.

Sizzlin' hate.

Come on. He was hardly a lock to make the roster. Or that he was any more likely to appear as AAAA crap after a few weeks than Nieuwenhuis, neither of who were brought the organization by Alderson.

Somebody got hurt. It happens everywhere.

He wasn't going to "go north" next week but I wanted him to. He is a Gold Glove fielder on a team with very few positive attributes. We now get more of the players that Standpat Sandy cultivates. Yeah, shit happens but it didn't happen to Brian Bixler, it happened to someone that I liked.

I'm sorry if it was too emotional a response. I'll be more dispassionate and laissez faire whenever a half-decent Met gets hurt. "C'est La Vie!"

Close. No surgery, four weeks in a Metly barber pole of a cast.

Holy shite! I had this game on TV but only watched little bits of it. Missed that. Did see his fine catch in the 1st. Found this out when I picked up todays paper.

I'm not sure why but I've always been okay with players who have great gloves but not great bats. I always felt at certain positions a team could afford that. On the other hand a good hitting player who can't field on the MLB level really bugs me, no matter what position. Don't know what that's all about, haven't giving it much thought.

Hefner just took a ground ball off his elbow in the top of the 4th and came out of the game against the Cards.

Somewhere, Chris Young is smiling.

Throwing.
Beltran hit it.

Reportedly the Mets have had a scout or two at all of Young's recent outings.
He is refusing the option of the Nats sending him down to AAA and is thus free to try and strike his own deal elsewhere. Between Santana maybe not being close to ready and Hefner getting hit around today it wouldn't surprise me to see him back. He's had a good spring for whatever that's worth.

Shawn "It's Nothing, I Know My Own Body" Marcum unable to answer the bell for a simulated game, won't start Sunday after all.

I'll be honest. My ability to distinguish among Jeremy Hefner, Justin Hampson, and Chris Schwinden has been compromised all along. If not for the Wifey Watch thread, they'd be one big AAAA shuttle-riding swingman abstract concept in my head.

Maybe Jay Horwitz's ass needs to call Nelson Figueroa.

O's 2nd baseman Brian Robers can't seem to catch a break.
A two-time All Star and regularly a 150+ game/year player earlier in his career, the last four seasons have seen him total ~450 ABs total (and just 76 over the last two seasons).
He was carried off the field yesterday in his 3rd game after a 5-for-12 start with what is now being diagnosed as a ruptured tendon in his knee - although at the moment they're saying no surgery and he'll be out just 3-4 weeks.
