Feliciano incredibly ranks 15th in the majors in relief appearances among left-handers over the past five MLB seasons, even though he has not appeared in a major league game the past two years.

Mets in short shorts! Linked from UniWatch.com. If there's a way to make this present any smaller, please let me know and I'll edit the post.

"Remember, boys, what counts is the name on the front of your jersey, not the back...uh, never mind!"

Great find!

Did the team have a hostile divorce with Al Jackson?

Seven years later and we could have had a shot of Chuck Taylor wearing Chuck Taylors. Great stuff.

Is that Joe Torre? And if it is, when did he stop being African-American?

A designer from Boston named M. Willis has been running a series on his blog called "Soccer Out of Context" where he's redesigning Major League Baseball uniforms with soccer aesthetics. It's been a fun series as far as reading his design choices. Today he published the last entry which covers the teams of the NL East, which includes some nice stories about Shea Stadium.

I like how the World Series titles are represented by two little apples.

Yes, he did a nice job with this series.

Crazy how people who really care about stuff like uniforms have so little to do with them.

Tommy John, it turns out, places 3rd among MLB pitchers with wins after having Tommy John surgery.
John tacked on 164 post-surgery wins to go with his 124 pre-surgery victories. David Wells (239) and Kenny Rogers (219) are the ones with more post-operation victories.

Jason Isringhausen leads all pitchers with 300 post-TJS saves (IOW - all of his). As a pre-surgery starter Jason had 17 big league wins prior and then 34 afterward.
Eric Gagne (187) and Brian Wilson (171) are the closest to him in the post-operation saves race although aren't really that close.

Crikey!

During last nights Rays-Orioles game, Tampa Bay mascot Raymond the Ray held up a sign titled Rays To Do List. The two items on the list included Steve Irwin, with a line slashed through it, and World Series

That's good, but Number 2 on the list should read "New Stadium".
