Fry's gone completely Megdal lately.

Terry Collins proves Jason's point.

No harm in the players wearing these for Spring Training games. They're delightful. They're whimsical. But leave the manager his dignity.

And shouldn't Mr. Met be wearing a tiny version of the Mr. Met logo on his cap?

G-Fafif and Jason are right. The hat is great--for a fan, especially a kid. Not for the manager.

No problem with the hat in any way they want to use it.

But this was probably just to show it off. Collins will probably more often wear the interview cap right?

One of my first two or three specific memories of any kind is sitting on the floor of our dining room at the age of approximately 2 3/4 reading this magazine and being fascinated by how the trademark character was reading a magazine of himself/herself/itself reading a magazine of himself/herself/itself...and so on. When I made the Mr. Met cap suggestion, I was thinking of that some 47 1/2 years later.

Infinite regression indeed.

Excellent work. And Ruben looks like he plays for at least the second-funnest team in the North Valley League.

Bears are probably still the funnest.

Anybody here know about the folding Land O Lakes butter trick? Pay attention, FMan.

In 1917, the US Government issued a Standing Liberty nickel, which showed Lady Liberty's bare breast. (This was two years before women were given the right to vote in the 19th Ammendment) There was such an outcry that the Mint changed the design and covered up the breast.
The company I work for sells that coin in uncirculated condition (so dirty old men can drool over the detail) for over $500.
And you didn't even have to fold the coin to see it.

Weren't we talking about bating practice caps?

I don't know if it's been mentioned anywhere, but I love, love, love the new MLB batting helmets. They bring back the old-school roundness that the Cool Flex model (or whatever they were called) lost.

I know they are for safety, but I dig the style much more.

I have a fondness for those old fashioned 60's style like they gave out on helmet day..Still have one faded as it is..with a Swoboda bat..The Mets only did a couple of bat days as I recall..
