Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 New month, new winning streak. I am still watching, at least, until I get all sleepy and shit.Jon Niese vs. Matt Cain are your starting pitchers. Matt Cain is neither a mat, nor a cane. Discuss amongst yourselves.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 New month. Mets will be undefeated in August.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 At least for the next 7 or 8 hours they will be.
Guest sharpie Guests Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Hunter Pence should be making his debut for the Giants. He is neither a hunter nor a pence.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Eli has several Whitesides, Buster is a bit of a Posey, Brett's parents thought he was quite a Pill, Justin is probably Christian, Pagan's no Angel, Gregor is not nearly as Blanco as Barry Zito, and all of Hensley is Clay, not just his feet.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Raise Cain's ERA!(For Dickey)

Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2012 Author Posted August 1, 2012 I know I haven't been around in a couple of days, baby, I'm sorry, I been hanging out with this British chick. I'm back, I had enough of her synchronized diving and her beach volleyball in long pants. She's not my baby, you're my baby, Mets. Let's Go.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2012 Author Posted August 1, 2012 YEAH KABOOM THAT SHIT RUBE!
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Make this inning count. Not scoring here is the sort of thing that haunts.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Nice poke Tejeda!. Bay, you depress me.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 It's not even about the sailor's golden dream of Jason Bay getting back to his All Star productivity. We might be having a perfectly defensible season if Bay had merely stayed healthy and upped his game to the level of a not-particularly-good corner outfielder --- hit .257 with 12-15 homers.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Two out, two on for Pence. Heckuva greeting.Make like Bay, Hunter.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Great alternative to boring bunting, Niesey.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 I'm still trying to figure out what "the sailor's golden dream" is, or means. There's another run on the force
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 I like how Dave didn't totally bail out on that curve to his skullcap. He's over you Cain.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 I'm still trying to figure out what "the sailor's golden dream" is, or means.Just making sure somebody's reading. But I like it, and I'm officially coining an idiomatic expression NOW.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Hey, we turned a DP!I'll have to check the records but we may already have turned more so far in August than in the entirety of the month of July.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Nothing egregious so far, but Cain has had every borderline call go his way.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 We're looking good tonite.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Cain looking bad. I like. Bay looking like Bay. Deeeeepressing. Jeeze, you're supposed to hit Cain well Jason. Is there no hope for you at all?
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Don't understand 1. Why Bay is hitting 6th (instead of 8th); 2. Why Bay is in the lineup at all (instead of Hairston).

Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 We should have about 3-4 more runs than we do now.
