Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Ruben hitting leadoff for the first time since his return from the DL. Terry also not shy of late about putting Davis and Duda back to back.t/kTejada, ssMurphy, 2bWright, 3bDavis, 1bDuda, rfHairston, lfNieuwenhuis, cfThole, cNiese, sp
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 I like that lineup a lot. If Davis and Duda are mashing, that lineup can be downright scary.Tonight is game #81...I hope they end the first half with a bang!
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 If I was Jason Pridie, that would be my goal.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Rollins, Polanco, Utley, Ruiz, Pence, Victorino, Wigginton, MAYBERRY, Worleyleaving work in 13 minutes.. come on already,b aseball!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 3, 2012 Author Posted July 3, 2012 I sure hopes we gots this Worley guy figgered out. You hate to run up against a team strong at the top of their rotation, and not take advantage of the guys at the bottom.Jimmy Rollins, ssPlacido Polanco, 3bChase Utley, 2bCarlos Ruiz, cHunter Pence, rfShane Victorino, cfTy Wigginton, 1bJohn Mayberry, lfVance Worley, PTejada, ssMurphy, 2bWright, 3bDavis, 1bDuda, rfHairston, lfNieuwenhuis, cfThole, cNiese, sp
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 I just had this vision of Tejada playin short for the Mets for many years and doin a good job, ending up with Met career numbers that will rival the great Ed Kranepool himself. Nice at bat there. Made Worley work. And Murph with the TRIBOOM. Nice
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 I'm going to say that the Mets are playing this one for Bill Emswiller of Walpole, Massachusetts. I only knew Bill from Facebook (Mets fan, Letterman fan) but he once went out of his way to meet me when I was visiting Cambridge. He passed away yesterday after a brief illness. I looked at this timeline and his last status update was on Sunday. It read "Lgm".So let's go Mets... win this one for Bill.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 To Bill. LGM!Ugh, that fuckin Ruiz. He's gonna become my new nemesis.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Expected Duda to score there. And Niese with the big hit! 2 ribbys to boot. Wow, replay shows Thole safe there at third. damn.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Geez, what's the record for runners thrown out on the bases over a two-game span?!?
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Wow. Another inning where they ran into two outs (Tejada didn't do anything wrong and Thole looked safe). Imagine how many they would have scored if they let the pitcher get them out.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Wow. Expected Tejada to score there and he's gunned down by Rollins. I'm gonna stop expecting things.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Thole and Tejada taking those extra bases were questionable calls.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Sending Tejada was the right move IMO.Thole is going on his own in his case. That one was a little more questionable and then he further screwed things up by sliding too early to where he lost all his momentum.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 I'm late to the ball...what happened to Kirk?

We are aggressive on the bases tonight. That one paid off. Nice moves by Thole crossing the plate. And Muffy drives one in. 6-1. Gotta love it
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Tejada drives in Thole, Murphy drives in Tejada. Thole nearly wrecked his leg avoiding Ruiz at the plate, but looks fine in the dugout. 6-1 Metsies.
