Thole's got to come into the game anyway ... do you PH him (for Valdespin) here?

I think I do even though greater chance of a DP and will worsen the defense at 2B (Murph already in too)
Lefty v lefty either way.

oe: and Terry agrees

Yes, very close. I was a lil surprised that the SS threw to third.

Only Derek Jeter can make that smart a play ... oh wait!

Damn. A deep fly would have done something.

Aaargh. At least they tied it.

Josh Thole arguing strongly with the umpire re: called third strike.

Not a good idea, given that Nickeas and Rottino are out of the game.

Yeah, delayed agony is so much better.
Maybe getting a freakin' ball out of the infield every once in a while would be a good idea too.

Frustrating not to get the runner home from 3rd there.

Rauch staying in for the 9th, Francisco, Batista, and the over-used Ramirez still in the pen. Hefner available too?

Rauch is awful.

Tuesday and today were as painful as losses can be. They couldn't even give us a good week of baseball after the no-hitter.

The pen has 10 blown saves and 15 losses? That's incredible.

Moth-R Fuck-R.
The worst part was, well, there were and are going to be a lot of worst parts, letting the rat-faced-boy off the hook.
Now I'll have to face an office full of YLDBs tomorrow.
Crap!

We completely suck and deserved to lose.

Or maybe we could try reaching the walls also.
Or maybe someone in the pen could try tossing up a scoreless frame every once in a while
Or maybe we can try to get on more than 3 base-runners between the 2nd & 9th innings
And then maybe 2/3 of those runners we do manage to get on might want to try NOT getting picked off
Or maybe we could NOT go 1-2-3 in consecutive innings against the likes of Viva Rapada and Cory 'Haim' Wade
Or maybe we could try NOT extending one inning with an error and then starting the very next one with another error
And maybe - just maybe mind you - the batters could decide to NOT STRIKE OUT THREE TIMES IN BOTH BASES LOADED AND TWO-ON SITUATIONS - two of those three Ks with less than two outs

Not a good idea when you're wrong either.
Can't be looking (or hoping) for a walk there.

The Mets hit as many 'hard' balls as the Yankees. they just hit them to the gaps/center instead of down the line. main difference.

And the Yankees deserve to lose on an infield grounder and a popup? no. We deserved to lose the first one, the second two were a toss up. They certainly didn't execute, and failed, but 'deserved'? no, they weren't outplayed.
