1976 was the last time the Mets had 3 shutouts in a row?
Wow.

Not true. Maybe they were talking about complete game shutouts but that info is erroneous. Mets shut out the Phillies 3 in a row at Citi in either 2010 or 2009. I was at the third game of that series.

honestly, no...I really haven't even been thinking about him...during the no no I wondered if he makes the Baxter catch, that's the context in which I think about him, it's a shame but ..

Shulman reported the stat incorrectly.

The Mets last shutout a single opponent three games in a row was May 25-27, 2010.

The Mets' last three complete-game shutouts in a row were April 12, 14 and 15, 1988. In fairness, the third of those games was a rain-shortened 6-inning game. they were not all against the same opponent.

The Mets did not have 3 consecutive shutouts in 1976, so I don't know what he is talking about.

Shulman just issued the correction. It was 1976 that the CARDINALS were last shut out three games in a row.

It happens to everyone. Everybody sucks at the end of their career. If I knew that Bay would revert to pre-Met form, I'd want him back, naturally. But hoping for that to happen, I feel like Charlie Brown hoping that Lucy won't pull back the football right before I try and kick it.

I would be open to platooning Bay and Ike Davis. That might be an improvement over what we have now.

TY guys for setting me straight on the shutouts in a row (only half here last few). I thought that sounded wacky.

This should get some serious consideration, but I'll be surprised if it does.

Great of ESPN to show the sad ass Cards fans in attendance tonight, cheering as their team scores their first runs since last week. You go, "best fans in baseball!"
