(And now we've got 6 innings to fill with that wonderful, wonderful 'pen.)I'm OK with the bailout as long as they use the long man as a long man and are committed to try and get three innings (or more!) out of him.Well, they got 2 2/3 before his old wheels came off. Better than nothing, I suppose. I think Ramirez coming in to pitch next.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 Did the Mets not read the KTE? We're supposed to be beating these guys!
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 This is going poorly for the good guys. What the fuck.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 This game not only sucks, but it's boring too. It's got two innings to become un-boring.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 Torres showing the coverage that is his calling card. We can use that.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 Oh, Brad Mills, two outs in the eighth, nobody on, and up by three, and you need to go to a lefty specialist to face Davis. You have no future with any team of mine, I tell you what.

Even if the move didn't work out. I was actually hoping to see Duda PH, a moment before Collins pulled the trigger.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 And the bullpen mostly did the job, keeping the Astros to one run over the next five innings --- though they walked a ton.I'm a little confused about Parnell being the guy you go to after you've burned Ramirez. I'd like to see them get alternated a little bit more. But I don't hang this one on Terry hitting the panic button. Moreso on the offense not being able to operate down a few key parts.I'm holding out hope that a power spike is coming.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 I suspect he used Duda early because he had to hold Baxter back. It turns out that Mike Baxter is the emergency catcher.

I wouldn't mind giving him the Full Nelson Figueroa and let him prove in Buffalo that he can still get people out. Send us Chuck James or Dylan Owen or Owen Dylan or somebody.
