wow. he was out by a mile, but thank god for not being able to catch the ball...

Aggressive (and correct IMO) sendings by Hale.
Either or both of those guys could have been out (Evans probably SHOULD have) but w/2outs and down by 4 in the 6th inning is no time to be sitting around praying for yet another hit to bring in held runners.

wow - a little more of not being able to catch the ball.

and i agree - both were correct calls. Bay definitely. Evans was a little less so, with it being so shallow in LF.

except you make inferences that he didn't just had a bad year, he was purposely stat-padding because despite spending his whole career suggesting that he grasps that home runs aren't everything he purposely took an approach that would make him a weaker player that just hit home runs.

Maybe it was the influence of Jerry Manuel and his liking that style of player.

i'm not inferring it; you're inferring it. I didn't even imply it. I just think DW is trying to do what he thinks he has to, after the debacle of `09, to stay even moderately productive in the unfriendly confines of ShitiField.

and i contend that he is foolish to do so. citi field never seemed to keep chase utley from hitting homers here.

- Good news: we've erased a 7-0 deficit

- Bad news: It's now the 7th inning.

Murph stays in at 1st. Parnell pitching and hitting in Evans' spot.

Wouldn't be the first time we erased a 7-0 deficit with Pelfrey pitching.

Of course, we lost that first one.

Do you sense a big hit coming from Jason Bay?

No, me neither.
